What is Yeast Infection | Causes | Symptoms | Treatments

What is a Yeast Infection? A yeast infection, also known as candidiasis,
is an infection caused by microscopic fungi or yeast, known as Candida. These fungi live on the entire surface of
the human body, but in some cases become so numerous that they can cause an infection. The infection typically occurs in moist, warm
areas of the body, including the mouth or genitals. The most common types of Candida infections
are found in the vagina, mouth, and throat. Vaginal yeast infections develop when the
environment of the vagina changes in some way, and the yeast already present is multiplied
enough to cause infection. Some of the most frequent causes of vaginal
Candida infection include using antibiotics or steroids, pregnancy, menstruation, and
certain types of birth control. Wearing clothing that is too tight for long
periods of time, or even an injury to the vagina may also cause a Candida infection
in some women. Symptoms of a vaginal Candida infection include
burning, soreness, itching, pain during intercourse or urination, and a thick, white, odorless
vaginal discharge. Yeast infections in the mouth and throat,
also known as thrush, are most frequent amongst infants and the elderly. Thrush causes a buildup of thick, white plaque
on the tongue, which sometimes resembles milk curds. In some cases, the tongue may appear red without
the white patches. This type of Candida infection is painful
and causes difficulty in eating and swallowing. In adults, yeast infections can also occur
around dentures, under the breasts or in other folds of skin, and in the nailbeds. These infections are usually not serious and
can be cleared up easily with treatment. Treatment for Candida will vary depending
on the type and severity of the infection. Vaginal yeast infections can be treated with
over the counter medications found in drug stores and pharmacies. If the infection lasts for more than one week
or does not improve, it may be necessary to see a doctor for prescription medication. Thrush requires a trip to the doctor and a
prescription anti-fungal mouthwash. Adults with thrush also have the option of
taking anti-fungal lozenges or pills to get rid of the infection. For Candida infections that affect the skin
or nailbed, creams and lotions prescribed by a doctor are used. If the proper treatment is administered, most
yeast infections can be cleared without any further complications. Most vaginal, oral, and skin infections are
resolved within two weeks. If the patient has a weakened immune system
due to disease, the infection may return again or become difficult to treat. Visit the website. Click below

Does Stress Cause Yeast Infections?

Does Stress Cause Yeast Infections?

Good day, Eric Bakker here again with another
frequently asked question regarding yeast infection. Does stress cause yeast infections? Stress causes many different problems in the
body, many different problems, and a good way for you probably to look at it from this
angle is that about 90 percent of all visits to the doctor are because of a stress-related
complaint. So stress has an amazingly insidious effect
on the immune system. In the initial stages of stress when a person’s under high stress,
they will have heightened hormone response; they’ll have more cortisol and more adrenaline,
in particular. The adrenals are going to pump out more of these hormones to allow you to
cope with the acute manifestations of stress. However, once stress continues unabated, you
keep having these problems long term, relationship problems or money problems, many different
types of issues that face us on a day-to-day basis. When they become chronic and long-term,
even though low grade, they’ll have a depleting effect on the adrenal system, what we call
the HPA stress excess. And over time, these hormones actually will not only decrease in
quantity, but their activity will decrease in the body. The cells become less responsive
requiring even more hormones to be pumped out and produced. Over a period of time, it’s
just not really going to happen and you slowly slide into a condition we call adrenal fatigue. I’m going to explain a lot more about the
adrenal-yeast connection in other videos. But stress is certainly implicated with yeast
infections. How do you know that yeast infections are
caused by stress? If you take a look at my book, I think it’s page 469 in my book. You
can read a lot more about the adrenal stress connection with immunity. Have a look at the
other type of problems that you may be facing like fatigue, insomnia, irritability, in particular.
There are different ways that stress can affect you in terms of a yeast infection. First thing I would ask you, what type of
stresses have you faced in the past several years? Can you remember any stressful events
which preceded the diagnosis of this yeast infection, for example? There’s often a link
there. If you think carefully, you’ll find a connection there. So as cortisol goes down
further and further, it’s going to be harder for your immune system to stay strong, which
will increase your susceptibility and reduce your resistance. I generally draw a line for a patient when
I see them to explain this concept, and I’ll put susceptibility on one side and resistance
on the other side, and I’ll draw a little triangle here in the middle. As your susceptibility
decreases, your resistance goes up. And vice versa will happen. When this goes down, this
goes up. As things are getting harder for you to cope with and you become more stressed,
your resistance goes down and your susceptibility will come up. I call these events contributing to that health
busters. Health builders are things you can do to increase your resistance and reduce
your susceptibility. In other videos, I’ll explain my concept on
health builders and health busters in much more detail. So to answer this question, does
stress cause yeast infections? Absolutely, there’s a huge link between them both. So
I hope that answers your question. Thank you.

Can Depression Be Related To A Yeast Infection?

Can Depression Be Related To A Yeast Infection?

Good day, Eric Bakker again, naturopath. A
question I do get asked from time to time. Can depression or anxiety, but particularly
can depression be related to a yeast infection? Well, it certainly can in some cases. I’ve
seen many patients over the years that had an unresolved yeast infection sometimes spanning
20 years that was never resolved or completely ignored by their health care practitioner,
deemed a hypochondriac by family or friends, and these are the sort of patients that can
develop a mild or even moderate depression and anxiety. I can remember myself in my 20s having a yeast
infection that was unresolved, and I can remember the days when I got made to feel like a hypochondriac.
My doctor wanted me to see a psychiatrist. My girlfriend didn’t believe me. And it was
quite sad. And these things actually do occur from time to time. Depression can be related
to unresolved Candida in particular. If you suffer from depression or anxiety and
believe you have a yeast infection, I’d recommend that you go and talk to a health care professional
that has experience with Candida. And in cases I have certainly seen a resolution of depression
once the health improved and the yeast infection was cleared. I certainly believe there is
a link between these conditions. So I hope that answers your question. Thank
you.

How Do I Get Rid Of My Yeast Infection Permanently?

How Do I Get Rid Of My Yeast Infection Permanently?

Hi, there. Eric, how do I get rid of my yeast infection
permanently? There are many ways that you can get rid of
a yeast infection. But if you’re very keen to get rid of it permanently, there are a
couple of things I’d like you to consider. One would be to have a look at the causes
of your yeast infection. Were you taking medications like antibiotics, the pill, or hormone replacement
therapy? I even ask men if they’re taking steroids. Are you a person living a high stress
lifestyle? Are you a person who’s eating the wrong kind of foods, sugary foods, drinking
sodas, having McDonalds or KFC or take-out foods all the time? Are you a shift worker?
Are you a person living in marital stress? Do you have a lot of business responsibilities
or money worries? Teenage problems? The list goes on and on. The point I’m looking
at here is stresses. What kind of stresses are you living under? Lifestyle factors are
usually unaccounted for in permanent recovery. So you’ll need to make some permanent changes
if you want a permanent result. Your diet will need changing. Your lifestyle will need
changing. You’ll need to keep on keeping on until you get well and you stay well. It is possible to permanently recover from
a yeast infection, but it’s something that you need to work at. Your practitioner can
guide you, but you’re the one who has to really do the work. So don’t come knocking on the
door of the doctor and say, “You didn’t cure me. I didn’t get well. You gave me the wrong
medication. You’re not a good naturopath.” Look at yourself. Look at what you’re doing.
Become self-responsible. In the seventh chapter of my book, in section
five, I talk about lifestyle and about self-accountability. These are the things I’d like you to look
at. And once you start taking that wheel in your own hands and steer your life in the
right direction, you’re going to get a permanent result. Any more questions? Please go and have a look
at my YouTube channel and you’ll certainly find the answer to your question there. If
you can’t find it, contact me on Candidacrusher.com and I’ll answer your question for you. Subscribe
to my channel, please, and you’ll be the first one to find out of all the new videos that
are coming out. And then please go to yeastinfection.org and do my survey for men, women, or children,
which will show you what your level of severity is for your yeast infection. Hope that answers your question. Thank you.

Can I Get A Yeast Infection From Using Somebody’s Dirty Towel?

Can I Get A Yeast Infection From Using Somebody’s Dirty Towel?

Hi there, Eric Bakker, naturopath and author
of Candida Crusher. Another question. Can I get a yeast infection from using someone’s
dirty towel? Well, why would you use someone’s dirty towel?
It’s not a good idea to use a dirty towel from somebody else. You’re better off using
your own clean towel. It’s not likely you’re going to get a yeast infection from a towel,
but it could happen. You need to be cautious of towels because towels can contact the foot,
the genital regions and other areas of the body. Obviously using a towel in situations
like that, you could transfer fecal matter, you could transfer yeast, and you can transfer
saliva or secretions to any part of your body. So my advice would be not to towel share.
Particularly if you have a partner who has an existing yeast infection. Always best to
use a clean towel. Not a good idea. The same goes with hand towels or bath towels or any
type of personal care products that you’re going to use on your body. I’ve known some
people who’ve complained of oral thrush, for example, after using a toothbrush from somebody
else. And, again, a good idea is to sterilize a toothbrush in some hydrogen peroxide and
water is a clever idea. So answering that question, can I get a yeast
infection from someone else’s dirty towel? It’s a possibility, but a remote possibility.
But I would not prefer you share a towel with somebody else. Use your own towel. Why not? Hope that answers your question. Thank you.

What is Yeast infection Candida? Explained by Dr. Gordon Pedersen Ph.D.

What is Yeast infection Candida? Explained by Dr. Gordon Pedersen Ph.D.

– The question is,
yeast infection candida. Candida Albicans is the name of a yeast that infects the
intestines and the vagina. So let’s talk about both of these. Because we’ve got to destroy this yeast or it will overtake the intestines. If the yeast overtakes your intestines, you’re gonna be producing a lot of gas, you’re gonna have auto-immune disorders, because you’re body is absorbing yeast, and it’s getting into your blood stream, into your muscles, into your nerves, into your bones, everywhere in your body. So we’ve gotta destroy the
yeast in the intestines, and we’ve gotta keep it in
balance with good bacteria. This is simple, but very difficult to keep a proper balance. I look for a liquid that’s very special, that doesn’t require prescription that will destroy bacteria,
viruses, and yeast. And I like people to drink
four ounces of it right now. Then, the next day,
they’re gonna have ability to drink two tablespoons twice a day and keep that up for months. By doing so, you’re gonna be
able to destroy the yeast. In the event that happens,
the bacteria is now gonna want to regrow at a healthy level. I like probiotics. Probiotics can now restore the proper growth in the intestine. By doing so, you’re gonna have less gas, less inflammation in the joints, less pain in the muscles, and you’re gonna start to have
normal digestive function, including normal bowel
movements at normal times. Now, let’s talk about
the yeast in the vagina. The vagina is a warm, moist
area perfect for growing yeast. Women say, I’ve got a yeast infection, they go to their doctor, the doctor takes a look at it, that’s all he does. Takes a look at it, says, hmm, I think that’s a yeast infection, writes a prescription for Lamisil or a similar drug. The drug kills yeast, well half the time, the doctor is wrong. The doctor may prescribe
an antibiotic instead, in that case, it will kill bacteria but will make yeast grow. So then the problem actually gets worse and you come back to your doctor three or four days, maybe
five days later and say, my problem’s worse, the doctor says, oh, I’ll switch your prescription. You have a solution though, this special all natural liquid that destroys bacteria, viruses, and yeast does
something no drug can do. It works on all three
all at the same time, and all you have to do
is get it in contact with your yeast infection. So, you can put a put a tampon out, put gel all around it, insert it at night, wear it through the night, take it out in the morning, and
that’s helping with the yeast inside the vagina. In addition, you can rub it on the outside of the vaginal folds, where yeast might grow in those warm, moist areas. In this idea of destroying Candida recognize that it’s internal and external. You need the gel, you need the liquid, and you need to use them from a special type of ingredient that destroys bacteria, viruses, and yeast. And remember, sugar feeds yeast. Take it out of your system, take it out of your diet, you’re not gonna have sugar anymore in your diet because that’s what feeding your problem. Another way to use silver liquid and gel is as a vaginal wash. If you fill up a bottle like this, or a douche bottle with the liquid silver, get in the tub, elevate your hips and pump the area full,
you’re gonna get a rinse. Another way to use the
gel is to take the gel and to pump it on to the tip of a tampon. Totally coat the tampon, insert it at night, take
it out in the morning. Either way, you’re gonna get a good rinse or a good wash of the vaginal vault.

Is My Yeast Infection Causing Numbness Of My Vagina During Sex?

Is My Yeast Infection Causing Numbness Of My Vagina During Sex?

Good day there, Eric Bakker, naturopath again
with another FAQ regarding yeast infection. This one’s quite unusual. Is my yeast infection causing numbness of
my vagina during sex? Well, it shouldn’t really do that, and this
is of some concern to me when I hear you say something like that. I would prefer that you
go and see your gynecologist and have an internal done, get checked out properly, maybe an ultrasound,
have a smear, and get checked out properly to see what’s going on there. We could be dealing with all sorts of different
conditions. It certainly needs more investigation if there’s numbness there. It makes me think
if there’s something wrong with your lower back. There could be all sorts of things going
on there. A yeast infection is not usually linked with
numbness or loss of sense of vaginal sensation there during sex. My reply to that one would
be to get checked out properly, and if nothing’s going on, if it’s all a normal diagnosis,
then perhaps to go and see a natural medicine doctor or integrative doctor to look for proper
treatment. This is something you certainly don’t want to play around with at home and
do home treatments; numbness, it warrants some serious investigation. Thank you for that question.
