When Does Ant-Man and the Wasp Take Place?

Ant-Man and the Wasp is the first film we
see that ties into the events of Infinity War, and while I previously assumed this movie
occurred concurrently to that one, new evidence suggests we’ve been at least partially mistaken. This is part 20 of a 20 part video series
discussing when each film in the MCU takes place. We’ll add future parts on to this series,
as more home releases are available for us to dig through. So when exactly does Ant-Man and the Wasp
take place? “URGH URAARLGHAOU… ULAAGH-AWHH!” “How’d you do that?” First things first, if we’re going to correctly
place this film, and in turn Infinity War, we need to take a line from that film to help
us with the timeline. “After the whole Accords situation he and
Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families; they’re
on house arrest.” We determined that Captain America: Civil
War ended in early April 2016, in part 13 of this series. So how long has Scott been under House Arrest? “…Provided he serve 2 years under house
arrest, followed by 3 years of probation.” “Come on Woo, I’ve got 3 days left!” So directly after the signing of the Accords,
or after Civil War, Scott took a plea deal which put him under House Arrest for 2 years,
and considering he has 3 days left on house arrest, this should place this film in the
second week of April, 2018. And on that very day we see Scott attend an
online magic course where the date is none other than April 10th, 2018. Infinity War also firmly places itself in
2018, as we mentioned in part 19 of this series, and we also discuss that the main events in
that film occur over a 3 day period as well. Does that mean this occurs the same day that
Thanos’ Black Order attack New York? There’s no evidence of that being the case. In fact, while the main events of this film
occur within the last 3 days of his house arrest, he still cannot aid the Avengers for
3 years afterwards anyway, considering his probation period. So let’s backtrack a bit and try to explain
this further. We begin the film in 1987 (as we discussed
in part 12), and there’s also a pseudo-flashback we received shortly thereafter. We also get a brief glimpse back at 2015,
as we can see Hope’s hair appears as it does in Ant-Man. There’s also some time dedicated to flashback’s
for Ghost in some indeterminate year. On Day 1 of his remaining house arrest, we
see him going through his daily routine. On Day 2 he wakes up in Hope’s car, is introduced
to the Quantum Tunnel, meets Bill Foster, and finds Ghost later that night. The third day is the climax of the film, and
we know he is released from his house arrest period later that day. “Be back later for the official end of your
sentence.” A number of days pass after Scott is released
from house arrest and is now in his probation, so he still can’t communicate with the Avengers. He spent some time with his family, he spends
some time at work, Hank and Janet go on vacation, and Hope and Scott go on a date. A week, at least, must pass between the day
he’s released from house arrest and when Hope, Janet, and Hank get snapped at the end
of the film. The snap must occur on or after April 19th. To throw another wrench in the mix, we get
this date while Scott and Hope are on their date reading June 2nd 2017, which I’ll assume
is the date this shot was filmed, because this cannot take place in 2017. For what it’s worth, I’ll say that the
snap must occur between April 19th, 2018, and June 3rd. 2.7% of the film’s runtime
took place in 1987, 1.1% in 2015, 1.2% in some indeterminate year, and the majority,
95% took place in 2018. I sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed this series. It’s been a long time coming, and now that
it’s complete, I can finally get to work on piecing together the next version of the
MCU Chronological Timeline. Thank you so much for watching, and if you
haven’t watched each part, I highly recommend you watch this playlist right here, so you
can fully understand where all the films occur. Please like this video and subscribe for more
content just like it in the future. Thanks so much for your support. It truly makes me happy. Have a great day.

How does Ant-Man and The Wasp link to Infinity War? – New Trailer Breakdown

Hi there! This is Jon Lyus from HeyUGuys and today we’re gonna be looking at the new trailer for Ant-Man and Tthe Wasp. Our trailer breakdown is gonna include spoilers for Avengers infinity war so
please if you haven’t seen it yet go and do so! If you have seen it and you want
to find out how we think it’s gonna link with Avengers infinity war and Avengers
4 then watch on. The trailer kicks off with Cassie Lang wondering how long her
father has been Ant-Man again and unless he’s been breaking the rules again it
appears as if he may be doing his shrinking thing at the behest of the
government. After all Avengers Infinity War made it clear that being on the run
proved to be too much of a strain on Scott’s family. So, he made it in with the
government and was put on house arrest; presumably signing the scovia accords
and registering his abilities with the government in the process. Then again
this is Scott we’re talking about it’s just as likely he’s shrunk in his way
out of the ankle tag and is doing what he believes he needs to. We should also
take a moment to point out that there’s no sign of Cassie’s mother or stepfather
here. Is it possible they met with the same fate as the characters Thanos wiped
away with a snap of his fingers in Avengers Infinity War? Perhaps… but this
trailer fails to make it clear exactly when Ant-Man and The Wasp
takes place in relation to that film. So it could be before during or possibly
even after. The opening sequence in this trailer also confirms that Ant-Man is
embracing his newfound Giant-Man powers from Captain America Civil War. If the
man in the car he’s pursuing looks familiar it’s probably because that’s
Walton Goggins the Hateful Eight and Tomb Raider star who will be taking on
the role of the villainous Sonny Birch (a d-list Iron Man villain in the comic
books he’s the new head of cross industries). And like the first movies
yellowjacket it appears as if he has his sights set on Hank Pym’s
technology. That building which rapidly increases in size halfway through the
trailer was spotted in his hands in the teaser a few months back. This trailer
makes it abundantly clear that The Wasp is Ant-Man’s partner not his sidekick and
that’s the way it should be. Of course this is still a departure from the comic
books because the original Ant-Man and Wasp were actually founding Avengers members Hank Pym and his wife Janet Van Dyne. The difference here is that it’s Hanks’ daughter in the suit but as you can see
from that nifty little ship the retired superhero has created,
he’ll be travelling into the quantum realm to find her mother after she was
trapped there during the flashback in the first installment. However it appears
as if disaster struck while he was trying to find his wife because a new
threat has emerged in the form of The Ghost. While Scott’s stole the Ant-Man
suit and did good with it she seemingly has more nefarious plans with the tech
which allows her to phase through solid objects and take. Flight her comic book
counterpart boasts the same abilities but is a man and his main goal is
corporate espionage and hacking because he hates those who were in power and
seemingly control in the world with their wealth. That may sound somewhat
cliched but The Ghost isn’t one to be trifled with as his powers make him a
threat to even here as formidable as Iron Man. So Scott and Hope are clearly
gonna have their work cut out for them based on what we see here. On the plus
side they’ll have some help from Luis and his gang of thieves as it seems
they’ve gone straight and are now charging people for their services.
Either way Hank’s not happy about it but desperate times call for desperate
measures. Our titular heroes on the other hand do seem rather pleased to be
working together and while director Peyton Reed boarded the first movie at
the last minute due to Edgar Wright’s departure he’s
clearly had some time to come up with his own inventive action sequences as is
evident from The Wasp using the giant salt shaker to take down some goons.
There are a lot of size changing shenanigans in this trailer though and
with what looks like one of the most unique car chases we’ve seen in the
Marvel Cinematic Universe highlighted at the end of this trailer it’s clear this
sequel isn’t going to allow itself to be overshadowed by Marvel’s other 2018
offerings. Oh! A one question we’re sure you’re all desperate for an answer to is
why there’s a giant and playing the drums!??! Unfortunately we have no idea but
it’s gonna be a lot of fun finding out! Now what’s the deal with Laurence
Fishburne’s character Bill Foster? Well he’s clearly a former associate of Hanks
and someone who liked his comic book counterpart attempted to take on the
giant man persona as Goliath. Alas it seems Scott has managed to reach whole
new heights (literally) and this character’s role remains something of a
mystery for now. Our bet is that he’s somehow tied to The Ghost and may want
revenge on Hank for something that transpired in their
past. Fishburne however clearly has no qualms about making the leap from the DC
films universe for this movie. And what of Janet Van Dyne? Aside from that brief
glimpse inside the quantum realm she’s nowhere to be seen here, but we know the hero played by Michelle Pfeiffer will have a key role to play in the
proceedings. The question is, will she be suiting up as the wasp again and what
have those years trapped inside an altar dimension done to her? We’ll have to just
wait and see. So that’s our trailer breakdown for this new look at Ant-Man
and The Wasp. I think we’ve got it all pretty much covered but are there things
that you noticed that we haven’t looked at? Or do you have a theory about how
this will all play out when Ant-Man and The Wasp finally launches in cinemas? As
always leave your comments below. Like and subscribe and check back for more

Spider-Man: Far From Home — Behind the Scenes!

LORRAINE CINK: From Spidey suits
to Tom Holland’s stunts to Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio,
we’re talking “Spider-Man: Far from Home.” Hi, I’m Spider-Man’s aunt Edith. I’m Lorraine. And I’m those tiny
sassy little hairs on Spider-Man’s fingers that let
him climb and stick to stuff, Ryan Penagos. And this “Earth’s
Mightiest Show.” And we are talking
about “Spider-Man: Far from Home,” which
is now available on Blu-ray and digital. First up, check out this
behind the scenes look at how Spider-Man’s many
costumes in the film were brought to life. [MUSIC PLAYING] I’m here with Ryan Meinerding,
head of visual development for Marvel Studios.
Hello, sir. Hello. Let’s get into it. Let’s talk about
Spider-Man: Far from Home.” All right. Spider-Man has I think the
most iconic costume of all time of all Super Heroes across
everything that exists, definitive statement. But let’s talk about the
ones in “Far from Home.” Right. LORRAINE CINK: I have a feeling
I know the inspiration for it. What was your comic
book inspiration for it. RYAN MEINERDING: Well, John
Whitehead had always wanted to reference the Noir costume. But also since this
movie so much about Peter dealing with the hero that he’s
trying to be or supposed to be, having him being given a
costume by Nick Fury essentially to say you could be this
tactical version of Spider-Man is essentially just almost like
a visual representation of him exploring a different
type of hero. And seeing him all in black and
with the flip up tactical eyes was a way of I think doing the
Noir stuff but also keeping a little bit of “Spider-Man
2” with it being fun with the flip up eyes. You know, I think it’s really
interesting because during Dan Slott’s run, he had that
stealth costume that was sort of like the neon piping– RYAN MEINERDING: Ah, yeah. LORRAINE CINK: And
the black suit. Did you ever go
through that iteration, or did you always know you
guys were going full Noir? I mean, I think again
it needed a– usually we’re looking at stuff from the
comics and seeing how it can translate into something that’s
relevant for the story world that we’re trying to make. And looking at the Noir
stuff, it sort of translating a little bit better
into something that felt tactical than the neon stuff– Yeah, it’s not as
stealthy as you would think. It’s not quite stealth
though it’s great. It’s great. Beautiful though. Now you also got to upgrade
Spider-Man a little bit. What were some of his
upgrades for this film? The notion at the end when
Peter has to make his own suit using Tony’s tech
was essentially for me that it’s Peter
becoming the Spider-Man that he needs to be. And part of that
is the idea of him using technology of his own. So the pitch for that
suit was essentially that he would sort of
spin a bunch of webs and then Tony’s technology
would weave it together into the suit, so
the suit was actually supposed to be made from
Peter’s web so essentially to say they’re the strongest
material he has access to and meant to sort of
integrate his technology with Tony’s technology. So the idea is at
the end of that movie was that the suit
was going to be able to do more web-based gags. Are used just like a kid in a
candy shop with these costumes? Totally. I mean, when Kevin Feige came
into my office and said we– you’re going to
work on “Spider-Man” and “Civil War,” it was– I think I let out a
visible like “eep” like it was a very undignified noise. That’s a appropriate Peter
Parker reaction though. [LAUGHS] So if someone wanted to get
into the visual development– I’m not saying I’m
leaving my job but– no, but if someone really
is interested in doing a job like yours, where do
you think people should start? I mean, reading comics
is probably a great place. I love it. Check. Loving comics, loving
comic characters. Drawing, I– you know, I drew– I’ve been drawing since
I was a very small child. I got into doing airbrushing and
sort of more realistic drawing and painting and then design. That sort of understanding
coupled with artistic ability and hard work, you know, I
think you can do– you can get to where you want to go. Thank you so much
for talking with us. You guys, be sure to
download “Spider-Man: Far from Home” now. Oh, man, I love the
Spider-Man Noir references that Ryan talked about in there. Very cool. And I like the idea of the
upgraded costume was actually supposed to be sort of a spun
web idea because it reminds me of in the comics when
Spider-Man loses his costume and has to make like a
little web diaper situation, like a tidy webby. Yeah, a Spidey Dipey. Yeah, I like that,
but I like ultimately for the costume kind of
reminded me of Superior Spider-Man from the comics. I thought it was a
really cool vibe. Yeah, and they just
showed like other cos– I like how you brought up
the stealth suit, which is, you know, you can
tell Ryan loves the comics and loves bringing that
to life for the films. Yeah, I love getting to
see fans make cool stuff. Well, that’s not all. Spider-Man is put
through the ringer, and that means the actor who
portrays him also gets to have some exciting times on set. Check out this
behind the scenes look at how Tom Holland
performed the bridge stunt in “Spider-Man– Far from Home.” TOM HOLLAND: I was sitting on
the floor rigged to a ratchet, which is a machine
where I will zoom backwards and slam into a wall. And the SFX guy will
also click a button, which will dump thousands
of gallons of water on me. And you best believe they
didn’t heat the water. It was freezing.
– Whoa! It’s quite similar to
a cold shower actually. It is a cold shower. We can make it colder. You dare? So they go 3, 2, 1. Action. I zoom back, I
slam into the wall, and then all I hear is
the SFX guy go, sorry. And then the water
just went [SPLOOSHING].. [DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYING] So we had to do
it a second time. SFX: 3, 2, 1. [PANTING] [LAUGHING] That was perfect. [BOOM] But it looks great. [WATER RUSHING] [GRUNTING] [LAUGHING] It’s good, isn’t it? Wicked. Did you clock how there
was Tom Holland’s stunt man right there wearing
the same outfit, going through the same thing? Kudos to all those people
doing that hard work. I know. They were like soaked, but they
were having such a great time even Tom, who
repeatedly over and over again had to do that stunt and
get slammed against the wall. Thankfully a lot of padding. It is very safe, but it looked
like a lot of fun actually. Yeah, and shout out
to the VFX team, who then takes out all the wires. Yeah. The magic of the movies. But if you haven’t
yet seen the film, spoiler warnings
ahead because we’re about to talk about
a major reveal. That is right. Mysterio has an epic
twist, and Jake Gyllenhaal gives us his take on
the mysterious allusions of Mysterio right now. JAKE GYLLENHAAL: He
uses the technology that he has developed to
create the idea of a Super Hero to essentially fool the
world and fool Peter Parker. What is it like some kind
of projector or something? Mysterio. You are so gullible. I mean, he’s smart as
a whip, just a sucker. So now all your
friends have to die. JAKE GYLLENHAAL: I
was really attracted to the idea of Mysterio as
an illusionist and to get into Spider-Man’s head to a
point where Spider-Man really wasn’t quite sure who
he was in the end, and I think that’s what
makes Mysterio so special. TOM HOLLAND: Jake is so
convincing as a nice guy that you just believe
him and you trust him, and that’s what
makes it even worse when you find out that he’s been
playing Peter this entire time. I give the world
someone to believe in. You need to wake up. It was my goal to try
and create a character that doesn’t leave you. And if I’ve done my
job, I think you’ll leave, look around
the corner, wondering maybe if Mysterio was there. [GRUNTING] I don’t know what’s real. Oh, man. I love all the comics
references that they’re able to put into the film. I mean, honestly
kudos to Jake Gyllenhaal for taking Mysterio, who is
such an iconic character, and we think of him as a villain
but making him so likable. It was really hard to
watch that twist happen. I know. I mean, watching it
over and over again as I’ve seen the movie
a bunch of times, I still like, oh, come on. You could be such a good guy. I know if only he would
have gotten those little bangs, the little– from the comic books when
he has the little bowl cut. RYAN PENAGOS: The bowl cut?
LORRAINE CINK: Yeah. All right, I cannot wait
to watch “Spider-Man: Far from Home” again. You guys can pick
it up on Blu-ray or download it on digital today. Now tell us your
favorite Spider-Man suit, whether it’s classic
Spidey, Night Monkey, or his upgraded costume
in #EarthsMightiestShow, and we’ll see you next time.
– I’m Lorraine. I’m Ryan. And this is Marvel. Yeah.

Spidey & The Wasp Ruin Rhino’s Rampage! | Marvel Super Hero Adventures – Stomp and Listen | SHORT

Oh, hi. Excuse me, sir. I know you have important
pigeon things to do, but I’m trying to
practice a new move. Could you possibly
scoot over, please? Thank you. It’s important to speak up and
be clear about what you want. It’s a lesson I learned
when the wasp and I tried to save the city
from the evil Rhino. (crashing) Rhino got loose
from the lab and is on another one
of his Rhino rampages. You get the big guy. I’ll clear people
out of harm’s way. Hey, you Rhino,
remember me? What are you doing?
Anything interesting? (grunt) (thud) So this is where I say
something funny, you get mad, I web you up,
and then I win. Oh, maybe he
didn’t hear me. Guess we’ll have to
try another plan. That man is in Rhino’s path. Hey! This way!
Hurry! I might not be able to
get him to slow down, but this dump truck might. (growl) Hee-ya! (crash) I really thought
that would do it. We need another
way to stop Rhino. But now we need
to find him first. I’ve got a lock on him. He’s still running, but the
street in front of him is completely empty. So I’m clear to grab Rhino. Wait! It was completely empty. Now there’s a bus in the way
and people who could get hurt! This time, I’ll get
the people to safety. You slow down Rhino. (grunt) Hey! You! Hold it right there. (clanging) (grunt) That got his attention. I hope that was enough
time for Spidey to get the people
to safety. Hey, everybody. You need to leave before
Rhino gets here. Quick! Are you some street performer
dressed up like Spider-Man? No, I’m the actual Spider-man! You have to get out of the way! (click) Spidey! Get their
attention and warn them. I’m trying but
nobody listens to me. Ladies and gentlemen! If I can have your
attention, please. A rampaging rhino
villain has gotten loose and is about to come
down this street. So everyone needs to clear the
area until Spider-Man and I can recapture him. Thank you, everyone. Wow. You got them to listen. Since I’m tiny, people
don’t always hear me. Whenever I’m being ignored, I speak up and I’m clear
about what I want. You just gave me an idea. You were clear and the
people did what you said. We’ll do the same
thing to Rhino. Only this time,
we’ll be clear. So we can lead him
into a trap. Let’s do it! Stop! Rhino! I need you
to listen to me. You have to surrender
and stop your rampage. Did you hear what
Spidey said? He said you need to
give yourself up and go back into custody. (angry growl) Yep, I think
he heard us! (angry growl) Wet cement! That
should do it. I think you’re right. C’mon Rhino, this way! (angry growl) (cheering) I was so sure I knew the
best way to stop Rhino. But I didn’t, and
he almost got away. Thankfully, Wasp showed me that
the best way to get someone to listen is to be clear
about what you want. That gave me the idea
to save those tourists by tricking Rhino. A big adventure with
my best small friend. Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo.

Trailer REACTION: Ant-Man and the Wasp

hey what’s up everybody? today I’m here
to react to the official trailer of ant-man the wasp, it was published by
Marvel Entertainment this morning or sometime today. however I just got home a
little while ago and now I am here and I have the chance to sit down and watch
and react to it. so let’s check this out! where’s the trailer? okay I’m gonna play
it and ready and I bamm How long have you been ant-man a gain? you know, it just sort of happened I wish I could fight bad guys like you I seem to mess it up almost every time Maybe you just need someone watching your back there you go, she’s cool! like a partner I like her! I actually heard what happened to you. walks through walls and stuff, stole some tech, and now supposed to take over the world or whatever! you believe that in your
hour of need you would turn to us. Not me cause we robbed you remember, that’s us teaming up yeah! you better follow her
lead, she’s way too cool for him, she seems intense you go low, I go high. I have wings, why would I go low? good point We are gonna die I don’t wanna die….We didn’t die!!! what’d I miss we were just tiny….. Ant-man and the wasp….. I was partner with Hank on a project called Goliat.h how big did you
get? my record 21 feet in 65 feet 65 if you two are finished comparing sizes! 65 –
that’s a Lois Lane saying right there, she said
that on one of the other film, oops I just pressed a different video yeah it
seems pretty cool . to be very honest with you ant- men it’s not as far as the
character go, my favorite character however he does have very cool
powers, and some funny lines. I guess so yes it seems interesting it’s gonna be
action-packed but to be honest with you
after Infinity war I guess the only thing that we really want to see next is part two, so we want to see how that movie is gonna end up and
then after Thanos you know it’s gonna be very hard to have a villain that will be
as menacing and as threatening but I don’t know I mean kind of follow
the same Marvel formula with the jokes and yeah I have to watch it
and see how the story is gonna go I think
Evangeline is actually my favorite character, I think that this might be okay
obviously I need to wait to check it out I didn’t think that the
trailer was super exciting or anything that it was like whoa I really am dying
to watch this film but I think it’s gonna be fine
