isn’t this exciting what do you want me to do about it I
want you to win one for the colony and clear those bugs out you’ll get me home
you do the job I’ll put in a good word for you with HR predator bugs have
infested the caterpillar fields so who cares about a bunch of caterpillars
anyway we do Lucas the entire colony depends upon the herd as an important
food supplier yes a food supply that you have done great damage to with your
garden hose and careless stomping about destroyer Zach his name is Lucas he’ll
always be destroyer to me so how about it destroyer
how would you like to do some good for the colony for once by helping us clear
the predator what’s in it for me always looking out
for himself typical human patients doc patients complete this mission by
defeating the predator bugs and you’ll receive a special reward one that will
help you get home well then bring on the printers I saw
food acts on the way over he told me these are the parts for a
weapon a larva sucks quarter kugel correct but not cool
I’ve decided it would be unwise to give a weapon to someone named the destroyer
what my name is Lucas how do I know you will use the weapon on the colony Zach
you know a larva silk squirter doesn’t alarmed ants besides you made a promise
what kind of example would you be setting if you broke your word a very
unlike example I’d say and I’d say he’s coming along quite nicely wouldn’t music all right all right I feel your goody on sock hard on the outside
and soft on the inside p-nut after your attacks as the
destroyer our food supplies are dangerously low and these earwigs are
moving in on our last remaining food resources let me guess you want me to
show my foraging skills and gather food for the colony right grab all the sweet
rings you can before the earwigs clean us out red team and blue team like
everything in the colony foraging is a team effort in this test each team must
act as a single unit to avoid obstacles and complete the course no ants get left
behind first team back wins Lucas you’re on the blue team but I work better alone
ants don’t work alone so if you want to become an ant you better become a team
player and you with the crooked mandibles suck in that thorax suck that
larvae so Schwerner is great how about fix me up with another weapon
well sure Lucas go on out to see what you can find what exactly am I supposed
to be looking for pieces for a dart bows scattered all over the garden simple
tasks really not dangerous at all great I’ll meet you in luck sure you will
destroyer Zod how could you have sent him to the cactus garden
what do you mean Hova Lucas is just a young pupa beginning to learn our ways
you know very well how dangerous it is out there Zach I do
trying to get rid of him aren’t you yes that’s right because the sooner were rid
of him the better off we’ll all be rid of who why dark bow please your name’s
up one dart bow one dart bow coming up black tail thanks Zack you’re a real pal yeah a
real pal criolla where are they gone they were told not to wander off relax
Hova they’re around here somewhere we’ll find them
find who several young ants wandered off well I guess with everything else you
think it’s my fault too no it’s not your fault but we need you to help yes
remember that whole teamwork thing no ant gets left behind all for one and one
for all okay all right I’m on it I’ll go find
the lost Anson bring him back okay Zack I know you don’t like me very much haha
doesn’t like you he can’t stand you in fact I’d say he hates your guts
he’d like to see it turned into a science experiment he wants to take your
esophagus fugax can I have a minute here please
oh uh sure like I was trying to say Zack I’m up for any challenge you’re willing
to give atta boy Lucas spoken like a true Scout ant any challenge huh how
would you like to go into the glass garden no problem what am i collecting
this time the parts for a seed bomb ooh sounds dangerous if I didn’t know any
better I’d say you’re trying to hurt me he may not be much of an ant but he’s
one smart kid stand back destroyer this one may go
boom black peel so tell me how does it work I’m sure you can figure it out
destroyer just make sure you do so far away from the ant mound
have fun with your seat bomb okay kid we got ourselves a situation on hand out
here but I don’t want you to panic you got it don’t panic
got it good so what’s the situation mmm what situation the one you don’t want me
to panic about uh um Paris situation situation once wasp are attacking our
caterpillars and we got to protect the heart come on Lucas you got to be brave
valiant vigilant all the V words etc I’m behind you all the way kiddo way way
behind you come brother’s for Queen colony Lucas don’t worry about me save yourself Wow did you see him I mean Lucas made up
boom in a booth and flew away just the way I taught him well destroyer you may
be fooling the others into believing you have ant potential but you’re not
fooling me I saw the stunt you pulled leaving Homer
to fend for herself against the wasps but I can explain everything
explain I don’t want you to explain anything I want you to show me that you
possess something other than cowardly traits by heading into the spiders lair
and do what once I’m in there survive like an ant or not Hova I’m sorry for
what happened back at the glass garden you did nothing wrong Lucas I didn’t
need your help back there but I do now sure anything just say the word several
ants have been lured into the mist traps ants who get trapped in these mists
never return I need you to find them and lead them to safety you don’t have to
ask twice over I’m all over it I want to tell you Lucas you’re doing a great job
so far top notch but looking ahead things could get a little dicey out
there a little choppy a little danger oh so dangerous huh why is that are you
gonna be giving me a hand hardy-har-har Lucas very funny no things
are getting dangerous because we’ve got ourselves another bug infestation and
you need me to go in there and clear them out right yeah but no worries cuz
I’ve got your back all the way well that makes me feel much better Oh
Lucas hey Lucas I could use a little help over here
no worries folks no worries Kouga axe is here to save the day once again uh Lucas hey Lucas I could use a little
help out here everything’s good to go I made the call the exterminator won’t
be coming what’s an exterminator what’s a call never mind the pointers
were saved to go back to the ant mound we better hurry before Zak finds out
we’re here we have sugar crystals yes wasn’t that the reason we came oh yeah
right this way destroyer you knew that going into the
humans nest was forbidden yes but I can explain
I don’t want your explanations you are a threat to every ant in its colony
especially Jehovah I want you to leave the colony and never return but I would
never do anything to hurt OVA or perhaps you would rather take this matter up
before the council at this point they might be willing to give dissection a
try where is he
sock what have you done with Lucas Lucas Lucas hmm that’s weird
well he’s probably off destroying some other poor and fortunate colony you know
how they are destroyers where is he he’s gone
disappeared poof lacteal he was a danger to all of
us he’s blinded you Hova no you are the one who’s blind you are so consumed by
your hatred for the humans you only see what you want to see I see a young pupae
a human learning our ways becoming a part of this colony becoming an ant but
he won’t survive a night alone in the wild over I I did I did it for you for
the good of the colony you did it for yourself
Luva let me explain I don’t want your explanations I want you to show me that
you are an ant worthy of your name okay the important thing is to remain calm
ladies remain calm we must not panic I’m Tom Crean how about you calm as can
be because with panic comes confusion and with confusing of them wait a minute
what did you two just say we’re calm we’re calm you’re calm how can you be
calm that croaker just swallowed Lucas and Zak he just ripped out his big ugly
target well relax fugax relax and breathe big fella
it helps Zak has a plan yeah and a big piece of alka rude Lucas and Zak should
be out of that frog in no time yeah praise the mother
oh thanks Zack save your thanks for later you’ve got a frog to battle right
now unbelievable Lucas unbelievable I
couldn’t have done it better myself now that I believed listen Lucas I’m in a
big Jam and I need help I sent some scouts into the house a while back told
them about the sweet rocks let me guess they haven’t come back caught by the
widow’s whip think you could go in there and see what you can do
alright fugax i see you’re not such a big fan of dissection either Lucas hey Lucas I think maybe it’s time
you stopped having my back yeah well I think you need to get me out of here
fugax Lucas where have you been we’ve been out saving the day
well you’re not done yet a number of young Scouts have fallen into the spider
holes they were seen running from the house care to tell me what they were
doing there you explained fugax I’ve got work to do
so crea tell me is anyone currently watching your back
tell me fugax has that line ever worked for you well it’s actually the first
time I’ve tried it how’d I do time to go back to the drawing board foo Dex you had quite a night Lucas truly
ant-like how’d you like to take on another mission sure what do you want me
to click this time fire crystals what kind of weapon can you make me with fire
crystals no weapon at all I need fire crystals to make the potion
it will return you to normal size the ant mother is here the ant mother is
here who’s the ant mother the one who’s come to save us that one is not here to
save you that’s the cloud breather how do you know that because I’m the one who
brought him here you’ve made a very wise and mature
decision young man I will return shortly with the gaseous vapors and pungent
sprays to rid the pests that be foul your days there’s only one way to bring
down the cloud breather you must cut him down to size the same potion used to
shrink me can be used against him but the cloud breather is a giant how will
we ever be able to deliver the potion into his ear we can ask the wasp for
help silence we’re all in this together
Lucas find the wasp leader and tell him your plan there’s only one way to bring
down to Calabria I’ll tell you what why don’t we discuss this so-called cloud
breathers situation over lunch well why do I have a feeling you don’t believe me
because I don’t the cloud breather sir the east nest
totally destroyed so how that we postponed that lunch climb aboard
looks like we’ve got ourselves a battle to win ouch my butt oh hi unfortunately not every ant made it only
I’d be faster well at least you saved the colony kids kids please please my
autograph can be purchased for a small fee one at a time one at a time yes you
what finally happened to Lucas no longer shall he be known as Lucas the
destroyer from this day forward he is rokai the
ant be sure to take this at a safe distance
from the mound of course I wouldn’t want to cause any destruction to the colony
shit glad to hear it I must admit he really did become one
fine aunt and a pretty good human as well you you you you you you

The 7 Funnest Bugs And Glitches In Minecraft Bedrock Edition!

The 7 Funnest Bugs And Glitches In Minecraft Bedrock Edition!

Hello everyone silent here and welcome back to another bugrock of the week episode today We’re going to take a look at these seven Funnest and most useful bugs and glitches on the bedrock edition of Minecraft as you guys know We have a lot of pretty terrible, very annoying and extremely just like bad bugs on the bedrock edition so it’s kind of nice to just take a break from all of that stuff and focus on the nice and fun ones because You may as well use these things while they’re in the game, get some enjoyment out of them because they are pretty fun, Interesting or just useful in general So hopefully you guys do enjoy and also before we get into it a lot of the bugs in this video Were suggested by you guys on my Twitter or in the discord server So thank you all very much for the suggestions. And without further ado, let’s hop into it First up is one of my personal favorites that goofy suggested on discord And this is the ability to actually swim through air or swim in one tall areas This isn’t technically crawling or dive mining. Although it does you know basically allow for the same thing, and yeah That’s just this entire bug so you can go into one tall areas using this, you won’t suffocate or die or anything like that Super convenient and you can actually do this with the buttons as well So you can just swim on the ground as long as you have some buttons above you and it looks extremely just silly and goofy and weird and it’s great for all kinds of fun things and you can actually use this to Swim through air as well without any blocks Above or below you all you need to do for this to work is actually go into a two tall Area and start swimming all the way against the ceiling Look up a little bit and then as long as you keep holding jump and you have some blocks or some buttons above you you can actually swim out into air it’s really Funny looking and it’s great for all kinds of parkour and just awesome stuff like that and you can even do this underneath a full blocks as well Again, I’ve showed this a couple times but it’s just such a fun and interesting bug that like you may as well use it build something cool out of it, use it for a secret base or whatever you want to do because honestly there’s a ton that you can Do with this. So this next bug was actually discovered by jipz and our discord server and it is Extremely extremely convenient and very very cool in general So as you can see We have ourselves a little bit of a blue ice highway going on with no actual blue eye going on at all We have the full power of blue ice, seizure warning, just pretend like I said that like 10 seconds ago, don’t sue me Oh god, that’s actually very dizzying Anyway, so yeah as you can see we just using like pressure plates or string or rails or buttons or whatever you want on the actual ground of our highway and we can still go as fast as normal Simply place down some blue ice or some packed ice or some normal ice at the beginning of your ice Highway and then of course after that if you just have normal blocks, it’s not actually gonna do anything. It’s gonna be extremely slow So you need to place down your buttons or your rail lines or your string or whatever You want and then it boom it basically just acts like blue ice Extremely extremely convenient, very very nice this could save you absolute hours and days of time Mining and crafting the actual blue ice and building your ice highways in the nether so something that’s also kind of strange about this and that I’ve covered a very long time ago in a separate bugrock episode is If you just place the boat straight onto the rails or something or grass or really anything Like this stuff, it won’t move at all. You will not be able to move this boat, and it’s very strange That’s a bug that’s been around for a very long time and is not on the list to be fixed like anytime soon So you have to place it on the blue ice and then go from there this next one is another of my Favorites and that is the living armor stands on at the bedrock Edition If you’re not aware of these things that they are extremely fun and also animated as well. I mean look at that We got an animated pufferfish and animated you know salmon guy and also this chicken is kind of having some Z factoring or whatever you call it going on and The next one will give you nightmares. This is the nightmare fuel right there. I mean what even is that? It’s a bunny kind of I don’t know how Anyway, all you all you do to actually have this happen is literally put some either a raw chicken pufferfish, raw salmon, raw rabbit, a slime block or either a bone in the actual You know, hand slot of the armorstand so I was thinking if we click on that guy we get some instant nightmares, if we click on this guy with a chicken we Get a derpy little chicken, if we click on this guy with a slime block we get a cute and adorable little slime I mean look at that. It’s just a little boot Now this is actually very very broken. So this one right here Let’s just go ahead and put, you know some raw rabbit back on that thing we’re now gonna click on that with a slime block and now you can see that we have a deformed slime down there like What even is this? The nose is like out here in front. He’s Pinocchio now. The eyes are like a bent back inwards He’s just all kinds of sad it went from Adorable to instantly just sad like immediately and then if you click on that with a salmon It gets not animated and a little bit higher up and you can just keep on breaking this This one is no longer animated you can get in chicken in there That guy is all kinds of just derpy as well. The rabbit isn’t super broken but yeah, basically all you need to do is just keep on clicking on this stuff with different items and it will eventually Completely freak out. So now the slime is looking to the side which is kind of weird He’s got kind of a lazy eye going on as well. How you do That one is a puffer fish or sorry a salmon and then give him Oh God Oh No But yes salmon and then a slime block, that is that is just sad, his eyeballs all the way over there That’s not adorable or cute at all So yeah, you got to kind of break the armorstand every time and there you go Now the guy is just over there like what even is this? Why? It’s like a slime block shoulder pad It’s amazing, if we place that down again and do a chicken and this time, this time he actually looks fine Yeah, it’s totally fine. Anyway, let’s try that again with the rabbit given a slime block at that time We get that one So kind of changes every time you kind of reset it and give it a new item plus a slime block It’s very strange, very buggy. This is 1,000% a bug, zloy has been calling it a feature I wish it was a feature because it’s amazing, but it’s 1,000% a bug. so it would appear that this is slightly Dependent on where the actual armor stand is placed in the world So as you can see every time I did this in a different spot, it is slightly different, the poor eyeballs they’re just kind of floating But yeah, it’s so strange, it’s such a weird and mysterious bug so this next one was suggested by CTClunker, and this one is probably a feature, but it’s definitely up for exploit So for instance if you just got done doing an excellent mining session And then you mine straight down and happened to fall into lava or happen to fall down just like a giant cliff or something what you can do is you can actually just log out of the game while you’re in that lava or while you’re actually falling and Then simply log back into the game and the game will try and put you somewhere safe So as you can see, we’re still on fire But we’re not in the lava lake and we have successfully cheated death, although okay good, I’m not gonna die Yeah, so we have cheated death just by logging out and logging back into the game This is definitely exploitable in the game. It likes to do this all the time So if you ever log in where you didn’t log out it’s probably the game Just trying to put you somewhere safe but be aware of this one because you can actually Like get put underneath the world into the void if you log out in the wrong situations So it might save your life or it might just throw you into the void another one of my personal favorites Is that sometimes while you’re raidng the end cities you can find parts of the end cities that have double, triple or even quadruple shulkers spawned at every single spot in the end city This is a you know Kind of rare bug you can find it maybe one in every five end cities and it’s just so nice for getting tons and tons of shulker shells that are so useful for just all kinds of amazing things a Really really awesome bug Especially considering how the loot tables for these shulkers were broken For years and years and years and also that is another bug that this series has actually helped gotten fixed so they do fix things On this platform and sometimes they also give us nice bugs to like make up for the bad ones This last one might be a little bit subjective but I would say that getting you know tile blocks in a pure vanilla survival is one of the funnest bugs are currently on the Platform because you’re getting a completely Unobtainable item such as bedrock in survival, bubble column tiles or even nether portal tiles Again in pure vanilla survival, and honestly, it’s just really fun. It’s a really interesting thing to do you got to be kind of technical you got to do very very strange things to actually get these different blocks in this game and it pays off because then you have a block that pretty Much no one else in the game has and it’s just really really awesome and some of these are even functional as well Now I have had a lot of people ask me to do tutorials on these kinds of things I’m not gonna be doing tutorials on these if you want to figure out how to actually get these different tiles in pure vanilla survival You’ll just have to watch the truly bedrock series and honestly If you’re not watching that series then what are you doing, it’s a bedrock edition let’s play You should totally be watching that after you finish this video Speaking of the end of the video that’s gonna do it for this episode of bugrock of the week Be sure to let us know your favorite bedrock edition bugs in the comment section down below it is kind of nice to focus on the nice and Positive aspects of the bedrock edition because for the last of 40 weeks of the series we’ve been taking a look at all the bugs And that need fixing and it’s just nice to switch it up a bit now and again if you know what I mean But anyway, I do hope that you guys have enjoyed today’s video if you have be sure to leave a like and maybe Share it around so that other people can enjoy it too If you’re new here and you want to see more videos like this be sure to subscribe, of course And I’ll see you all down the comments section and in the next one. Thank you again for watching and then there was silence

The 7 Most Annoying Bugs In Minecraft Bedrock Edition!

Hello everyone silent here and welcome back to another bugrock of the week episode today we’re gonna be taking a look at your guys’s least favorite and most Annoying bugs on the bedrock edition of minecraft a couple days ago I tweeted out on Twitter and asked you guys in discord as well What your least favorite bugs on this platform were and you guys came into full force with a whole ton of different suggestions Lots of very very annoying things So we’re gonna be taking a look at five of the most annoying bugs from the Minecraft community in this video and then I’ll be adding a couple of a different major annoying bugs at the end of the video that definitely need a Priority because they are still in the game and are still a massive issue And before we hop into things if you guys want to see any or all of these bugs get fixed in future updates for The bedrock edition then of course be sure to visit the description down below There’s gonna be bug report links to everything that we talk about in this video all you need to do is leave an upvote on those reports or really interact with them in any way shape or form and Then I’ll let the developers know what bugs to prioritize fixing in future updates So again all links will be down in the description the first bug for today is coming from zloy and he mentions that Furnaces will often forget all of their stored experience if you’re not aware of this Furnaces on the bedrock edition and on Java are supposed to store all the experience from all of the items that they have ever smelted Even if they’re taken out by a hopper The only way to get that experience is it to actually pull an item out of the furnace itself However, these things can often forget all of their stored experience So like that time, I got three levels from that one item that worked perfectly However, sometimes that that just completely fails to actually function It’s a really big deal and it happens all the time That one did work as so it’s kind of a random bug that happens But still it’s a very annoying bug and like the furnace storage is just a really really awesome feature It’s honestly one of my favorite features in the village and pillage update it’d be so nice If this is a thing that we actually had a fully functional the next bug is suggested by PFalcon and they say block lag, block lag, block lag, block lag and block lag was that five times I think it was but yeah, block lag. It’s just kind of the worst thing ever This was a really big issue back in like 1.2, 1.3 area But now it’s back with a fury and it just makes mining anything or building really anything on realms and I believe in Single-player even, like it’s just a massive issue as you see just by walking past this thing Most of them do get mined, but just like half or more of them end up reappearing a massive bug It’s such a big bug that my shovel is now named block lag. Thanks bedrock But yes this one it’s just it’s a very annoying thing and it just makes everything super tedious This next one is a bug that doesn’t get nearly enough attention But has a massive, massive impacts on all kinds of redstone contraptions and sorting systems. several different people suggested this one even more that I’m not showing, just lot of different people hate this bug and rightly so it is unreliable hoppers So basically what happens is even just in a straight line the hoppers don’t transfer items how they should all of these items are gonna get jumbled up, mixed around and just out of order so you can Kind of, you know, remember what order these items are in it right now Diamond, Crystal, pumpkin pie and then diorite So then we can go ahead and flip that lever, see all the items are being transferred through these hoppers, as you can see Nothing going wrong And then as soon as we open up the chest you can see that the second item ended up in the fifth slot and everything else got shifted forward a block is just like What is even happening here? Come on We need reliable hoppers and this is a massive part of why storage systems are such a pain to build on this platform, why they have to be super slow in order for things to be reliable, and why they are super massive as well if reliable hoppers were added to the game It would actually help worlds be less laggy because there wouldn’t be nearly as much storage, you know redstone going on Everything else would be a lot simpler so I would say this is probably the most important bug in this video simply because it doesn’t get nearly enough attention from like Anyone, but it affects all kinds of things So the next bug is suggested by GraysonPlays and that so that the dragon’s breath is of course way too powerful No, it’s not just you. This stuff is literally like an instant kill I have a full protection for armor on at the moment and I feel like that should have done a lot more damage to me Getting flung across the island, but I’m not gonna question it anyway let’s go ahead and hop into some of this stuff real quick and you’ll see that the knockback is first of all quite Crazy and also it’s basically an instant kill. This is basically impossible so, of course I’m not against him being powerful or strong or deadly, it’s that it’s too powerful And it’s kind of game breaking, if you’re a new player trying to fight the ender dragon This bug coupled with a couple different bugs basically, it makes it impossible and I’ve heard so so many stories of people having to enable cheats and creative mode just to actually be Able to defeat the dragon that is of course, very game breaking not as strictly due to this bug but due to other bugs I will cover later on and of course the instant kill Dragon’s Breath does not help that Yeah, you know, it’s just it’s just not fun It’s overpowered and it does need to be properly fixed the final most annoying bug from the community is of course duplication bugs There are so many You know duplication bugs on bedrock edition and seems like we get at least one or two new ones every update. Of course I’m not gonna show any they’re already prevalent enough and they’re already a terrible thing to have like the current one is literally a Placing blocks. No, like that’s literally a duplication glitch I’m not gonna tell you more about it because of course, I’m not gonna tell you more about it, but it’s just so ridiculous we get so many of them every single update, it just breaks economies and breaks servers and honestly, It just makes everyone super discouraged to actually play did that potion just fly down there or is that just lag? Cuz I just threw that over here, did that, my potions gone Oh, geez, whatever fine anyway, but yeah back to my current rant, the duplication glitches ruin economies They break all kinds of servers and they discourage a lot of people from playing including the actual Duplicators themselves because it just kind of ruins the game in so many different ways And of course, there’s just so many duplication bugs every single update It’s really quite terrible and they need to do a lot more testing Java Edition rarely if ever it gets, you know proper duplication glitches and when they do they get them they’re always fixed super quickly Can we get some of that due diligence over here on bedrock attention, please? we really need it So those are all the bugs from the community Thank you all very much of for suggesting those on Twitter and also in discord as well as a couple of bonus bugs We have of course the ender dragon duplication. this happened on our patron realm a couple of days ago We just suddenly had like, you know, 50 ender dragons just flying around the end and this happens in pure vanilla survival Of course, I’m in you know creative right now because if I were in survival then I would just be getting completely Annihilated but yeah, this happens a ton. It’s absolutely ridiculous and this is another thing that makes it nearly impossible for new players to Actually fight the ender dragon. It’s a really sad glitch. There’s no way of actually fixing it in survival Besides just toughing it out and actually killing them all or you can of course You know load it up and creative and use cheats to kill the guys which is what happens most of the time For new players of this platform, which is really sad It’s really unfortunate to go to the end dimension to kill dragon and die and then have you know Five dragons appear there once you go back to the end because that’s typically how this happens You have to die With one dragon before you get new dragons or if you just like leave the main island while a dragon is alive It’ll end up duplicating them It’s a really terrible thing that you know coupled with the instant kill Dragon’s Breath doesn’t help either It’s honestly just quite the worst thing so the final major bug is of course a the lack of a mob despawning here on the bedrock edition and more often than Not you will find things like this in your worlds It’s honestly kind of insane and this is kind of an artificial Simulation of this because you know finding of this on truly bedrock probably wouldn’t be the best idea But anyway, yeah, this happens a ton if you want to know more about despawning and why we need it on the bedrock edition and why it’s actually such a massive deal I’ve actually made an entirely different Video on that subject, I would highly suggest checking it out because currently it is one of the biggest issues on the bedrock edition so again link to the videos gonna be everywhere that you would expect it to be and please do upload it because this is a Massive deal and this should never happen. So what are your least favorite and most annoying bugs on the bedrock edition? Let us know if a comment down below I am very curious what you people here on YouTube think because I haven’t asked anyone over Here, I only asked the people on discord and Twitter. So there is that and let me know your thoughts are down below again I’m very curious and also be sure to visit the description of the video because then you can upvote all the bug reports down there and let the developers know that they should be prioritizing these bugs that are extremely annoying and do need fixing in the future updates and Also do consider joining our discord server or following me on twitter the discord is kind of like the heart of our community and where a lot of the Interaction of the community happens as well and also Twitter just follow me over there I tweet stuff in things and like it exists. Follow me. It needs plugging I never plug my Twitter and I need to do it more and that’s why I’m plugging it right now You can follow me link down below and that is the thing and that would be cool of you But that’s pretty much gonna do it for this video. Thank you ever so much for watching I do hope that you have enjoyed I will see you all down the comments section and in the next one and Then there was silence

Bugs & Anime: Two Games Succeeding Mario RPGs

Paper Mario an adorable adventure which
introduced everyone to the power of paper in an easy-to-understand RPG. Mario
and Luigi A nutty narrative of the Bros, getting involved in foreign kingdoms,
time travel, and Bowser’s gut at one point. After remakes, sticker shenanigans, and whatever amalgamation paper jam was supposed to be (seriously though, is it a Paper Mario or a Mario & Luigi ga-) Fans from both
ends of the spin-offs have been wanting a new game that went back to what made the spin-offs amazingly memorable. Unfortunately, those who hold the keys of
the kingdom don’t seem to agree. Luckily, sites like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo allow many spiritual successors to be created and in this video, I’ll be
talking about two games that plan on carrying their spirit and succeeding
Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi. huh so that’s why they’re called spiritual
successors Allow me to start this video off by bugging you about a game called
Bug Fables. In the world of Bugaria, there’s a buzz about a legendary
treasure called the Everlasting Sapling, a plant that grants immortality to
whoever eats its leaves. The story revolves around three bugs: Vi Kabbu and Lief (n-no, this one) as they travel across the land and get swarmed by other
annoying insects who wish to have the sapling for themselves. or for the Queen or for Chuck (I got my eye on you, boi) as soon as I started the game up I can
already see the Paper Mario inspirations. The paper aesthetic of the
characters and environments, the party’s special abilities used to progress
through the land, the lovable characters and the Trouble Center, the enemy’s behavior reflecting the Goombas and Koopas Even the combat system is literally Paper
Mario with a coat of bug paint splattered on top of it. I felt right at
home and then it was my turn to beat the enemies up and started to feel the
difference in the system. For starters, you don’t get a first strike in this
game. Instead you stun them and
encountering them gives you an extra turn with the cost of your attack being lowered. Also, whoever’s out front gains a boost in their attack power at the cost of
being more likely to be attacked, so there’s a little strategy in there. There’s also a neat little mechanic called Turn Relay where any party member
can take another party members turn to better strategize the fight. Want to
take down all the enemies in one go, but two of them are airborne? no problem! Just
have Vi take two turns so she can use her Beemerang to knock them down so that
Kabbu can use his turn to charge through them all. It adds depth to the battle
system, and combined with the hard mode badge, that I immediately turned on
because ain’t no scrub, this turns Baby’s First RPG into a strategic balancing act
of life and death. Another thing that got my attention is
the OST. From what I heard from the demo, it sounds optimistic to match the style One of my favorite tracks is the Snakemouth Den for its mysteriously calming
sound. Like I’m in a cave filled with curiosity, despite the slight danger that
dwells deep inside. It’s set to release on various consoles such as the Switch
and PS4. You know what that means: I’m already practicing looking through
every nook and cranny collecting Star Pieces. Nonononono! Wait wait! They’re Crystal Berries! They’re Crystal Berries in this game. it already reached its goal (which
means I already missed my chance to nab that OST) but you best bee-lieve that I’ll be
keeping an eye on this game. The other game i wanna explore deep into its
catacombs is Blue Omen Operation. 31 years ago, Earth has received a
mysterious package from space in the form of a sarcophagus called the Blue Omen. Ever since then, everyone has been trying to figure out what the heck’s inside. You
play as Jiro and Yagiko as they travel around this weird interpretation
of Earth and deal with even weirder enemies and discover this mysterious
mystery. What could it be? Treasure? Immortality? An alien demon bent on world domination?! … a mushroom? who knows? its a myyysteryyyy *spook noises*
(this joke is bad) The game is heavily inspired by the Mario & Luigi RPG with its quirky humor, memorable characters and its battle system where depending on how you time
your button presses, you’ll be able to deal more damage and dodge. What Blue
Omen added is that you can do a small combo of hits, as well as an option to
interrupt an enemy with a counter-attack instead of dodging. They also add Paper
Mario mini-games whenever you use their skills such as Jiro’s Fire Breath or
Yagiko’s Lightning Bolt. The better you, do put more powerful the move is testing your time and reflexes. the The biggest strength of this game is its
amazing visuals and animation. It has that old-school anime art style
that’s super stylish and will take you back to the 90s, and the animation in the
game is super fun to watch. The quirky characters you run into are comically
expressive and unique. You even help the Mario Party Six hosts at one point. It’s
frikkin great! The music is an absolute BANGER. Check this out: ♪ boppin’ music time ♪ Soon as I heard the opening, I threw my
wallet at the screen! but nothing happened, so I went to the Kickstarter and pledged enough for the OST. Right now it’s being released only on PC, so a console release
might have to wait. Even still, this game is super fresh, so I’m definitely keeping
an eye on this one. Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi are
currently inactive with no signs of a new game at the moment. So to see Bug Fables
and Blue Omen come in and fulfill what we love about these games, it doesn’t feel like the memories died just yet. It just came back in a different form. The links to the demos are in the
description below. If you’re a fan of either Mario RPGs, I highly recommend trying these two games out so you can play them for yourselves. Even though they met
their goals, you can still show your support by playing the games and spreading
the word and if you enjoyed this video, make sure you leave a like as well as comment which game you’re more interested in. Anyways, with all that being
said, thank you so much for watching and I’ll see you guys later.

Windows 10 Bug Bashes

Windows 10 Bug Bashes

>>The Bug Bashes for Windows Insiders are
an essential tool for us to gain feedback from Windows
Insiders that we can use to help shape
the next versions of Windows. To sign up as an Insider, go to insider.windows.com/getting
started. In the rest of this video, you’ll hear from
the Windows Bug bash crew about how to get involved as a Windows Insider and give feedback on Windows
Insider builds.>>We’ve been running Windows Bug Bashes for years internally. When we opened it up
to external users, our Windows Insiders
in particular, we were amazed by
both the quality and the volume of the data
that you were giving us. So, on our side what we do is, as this feedback comes
in every morning, we’re looking at what’s trending, where seeing where
the data’s coming in, and we’re comparing this across all of our different languages, and locales, and
grouping it together. This is really the community
champions doing this work, and they’re creating the bugs that are engineering
teams go fix, and that’s why
Insider feedback is so critical to pulling
the Bug Bash together. So, thank you all for doing that. It’s so important to the quality of Windows and
pulling it all together. The next thing I want
to talk about is, in case you didn’t know, here’s how you can start
actually filing feedback.>>If you encounter
a problem or have a feature idea while
you’re using Windows 10, use our keyboard
shortcut “Windows Key F” to launch feedback hub. Enter a concise title and see if others have already
shared that idea with us. You can vote on their idea, or give us new feedback. If you give us new feedback, please include a screenshot, or recreate the problem
so that our engineers can understand your ideas better.>>Hi, I’m Aman Benes, I’m a program manager in
the Windows and Devices group. One of the things I own is lighting up Quests
and feedback hub, and this includes lighting
up Quests for Bug Bash. Of course I like mission that
you can do on your system, they usually contain
a description, short steps, as well as, followed by a way for
you to provide feedback. This can be contextual feedback, user feedback, or even a survey
at the end of the Quests. Leading up to the Bug Bash, our engineers invest in areas that we want to get
explicit feedback on. Here is a demo of We Will
Find Quests in feedback hub. Let me show you how. So, when you launch
feedback hub on your system, you’ll see a tab on the side
that says “Quests.” Clicking on the
“Quests”, you’ll see the various quests that
are available to you. I can see there’s a description, followed by an action
at the end of the quest for you
to submit feedback. You may be recognized
for participating in the Bug Bash by running the Bug Bash build during
the Bug Bash period, as well as, finishing
at least one quest and giving us
one piece of feedback.>>Hi, I’m Jen, and this guy I’m standing uncomfortably close to, is Jason.>>Hey.>>For anyone who’s been in the Insider program for
maybe the last year, you probably know by now that
you love doing webcasts. One of the main features of every Bug Bash is
that we do a webcast. So, you can meet us, you can see what we’re doing, you can talk with us real time. And Jason and I are
regulars but we do try to invite special guests with each different webcasts. You can get the lay of the land, have the opportunity to ask
them about their features, and just have a lot of fun.>>The Bug Bashes occur from occasion and as
we do the webcast, we post them on Mixer.com. So, our particular address
is Mixer.com/WindowsInsider. Some of you may have tuned in previously when it
was named Beam, but don’t forget that
the name has changed. We’ll announce the dates and times of the webcasts
via the blog post. So, as from that historical
pattern of us doing those, it’ll be easy to find so
that you can tune in. If it’s not convenient
for you, of course, you can check out the video
on demand feeds later on. They’re posted at
the same web address.>>If you have any questions
you want to ask us before or even after the webcast, you can find me on
Twitter and @JenMSFT, and Jason is @NorthFaceHiker.>>The actual main Twitter handle which is @WindowsInsider.>>We’re always available
for any questions, comments, concerns,
feedback. We love you.>>Thank you.>>Thank you.>>Thank you.

What separates us from chimpanzees? | Jane Goodall

What separates us from chimpanzees? | Jane Goodall

Good morning everyone. First of all, it’s been fantastic being here over these past few days. And secondly, I feel it’s a great honor to kind of wind up this extraordinary gathering of people, these amazing talks that we’ve had. I feel that I’ve fitted in, in many ways, to some of the things that I’ve heard. I came directly here from the deep, deep tropical rainforest in Ecuador, where I was out — you could only get there by a plane — with indigenous people with paint on their faces and parrot feathers on their headdresses, where these people are fighting to try and keep the oil companies, and keep the roads, out of their forests. They’re fighting to develop their own way of living within the forest in a world that’s clean, a world that isn’t contaminated, a world that isn’t polluted. And what was so amazing to me, and what fits right in with what we’re all talking about here at TED, is that there, right in the middle of this rainforest, was some solar panels — the first in that part of Ecuador — and that was mainly to bring water up by pump so that the women wouldn’t have to go down. The water was cleaned, but because they got a lot of batteries, they were able to store a lot of electricity. So every house — and there were, I think, eight houses in this little community — could have light for, I think it was about half an hour each evening. And there is the Chief, in all his regal finery, with a laptop computer. (Laughter) And this man, he has been outside, but he’s gone back, and he was saying, “You know, we have suddenly jumped into a whole new era, and we didn’t even know about the white man 50 years ago, and now here we are with laptop computers, and there are some things we want to learn from the modern world. We want to know about health care. We want to know about what other people do — we’re interested in it. And we want to learn other languages. We want to know English and French and perhaps Chinese, and we’re good at languages.” So there he is with his little laptop computer, but fighting against the might of the pressures — because of the debt, the foreign debt of Ecuador — fighting the pressure of World Bank, IMF, and of course the people who want to exploit the forests and take out the oil. And so, coming directly from there to here. But, of course, my real field of expertise lies in an even different kind of civilization — I can’t really call it a civilization. A different way of life, a different being. We’ve talked earlier — this wonderful talk by Wade Davis about the different cultures of the humans around the world — but the world is not composed only of human beings; there are also other animal beings. And I propose to bring into this TED conference, as I always do around the world, the voice of the animal kingdom. Too often we just see a few slides, or a bit of film, but these beings have voices that mean something. And so, I want to give you a greeting, as from a chimpanzee in the forests of Tanzania — Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh! (Applause) I’ve been studying chimpanzees in Tanzania since 1960. During that time, there have been modern technologies that have really transformed the way that field biologists do their work. For example, for the first time, a few years ago, by simply collecting little fecal samples we were able to have them analyzed — to have DNA profiling done — so for the first time, we actually know which male chimps are the fathers of each individual infant. Because the chimps have a very promiscuous mating society. So this opens up a whole new avenue of research. And we use GSI — geographic whatever it is, GSI — to determine the range of the chimps. And we’re using — you can see that I’m not really into this kind of stuff — but we’re using satellite imagery to look at the deforestation in the area. And of course, there’s developments in infrared, so you can watch animals at night, and equipment for recording by video, and tape recording is getting lighter and better. So in many, many ways, we can do things today that we couldn’t do when I began in 1960. Especially when chimpanzees, and other animals with large brains, are studied in captivity, modern technology is helping us to search for the upper levels of cognition in some of these non-human animals. So that we know today, they’re capable of performances that would have been thought absolutely impossible by science when I began. I think the chimpanzee in captivity who is the most skilled in intellectual performance is one called Ai in Japan — her name means love — and she has a wonderfully sensitive partner working with her. She loves her computer — she’ll leave her big group, and her running water, and her trees and everything. And she’ll come in to sit at this computer — it’s like a video game for a kid; she’s hooked. She’s 28, by the way, and she does things with her computer screen and a touch pad that she can do faster than most humans. She does very complex tasks, and I haven’t got time to go into them, but the amazing thing about this female is she doesn’t like making mistakes. If she has a bad run, and her score isn’t good, she’ll come and reach up and tap on the glass — because she can’t see the experimenter — which is asking to have another go. And her concentration — she’s already concentrated hard for 20 minutes or so, and now she wants to do it all over again, just for the satisfaction of having done it better. And the food is not important — she does get a tiny reward, like one raisin for a correct response — but she will do it for nothing, if you tell her beforehand. So here we are, a chimpanzee using a computer. Chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans also learn human sign language. But the point is that when I was first in Gombe in 1960 — I remember so well, so vividly, as though it was yesterday — the first time, when I was going through the vegetation, the chimpanzees were still running away from me, for the most part, although some were a little bit acclimatized — and I saw this dark shape, hunched over a termite mound, and I peered with my binoculars. It was, fortunately, one adult male whom I’d named David Greybeard — and by the way, science at that time was telling me that I shouldn’t name the chimps; they should all have numbers; that was more scientific. Anyway, David Greybeard — and I saw that he was picking little pieces of grass and using them to fish termites from their underground nest. And not only that — he would sometimes pick a leafy twig and strip the leaves — modifying an object to make it suitable for a specific purpose — the beginning of tool-making. The reason this was so exciting and such a breakthrough is at that time, it was thought that humans, and only humans, used and made tools. When I was at school, we were defined as man, the toolmaker. So that when Louis Leakey, my mentor, heard this news, he said, “Ah, we must now redefine ‘man,’ redefine ‘tool,’ or accept chimpanzees as humans.” (Laughter) We now know that at Gombe alone, there are nine different ways in which chimpanzees use different objects for different purposes. Moreover, we know that in different parts of Africa, wherever chimps have been studied, there are completely different tool-using behaviors. And because it seems that these patterns are passed from one generation to the next, through observation, imitation and practice — that is a definition of human culture. What we find is that over these 40-odd years that I and others have been studying chimpanzees and the other great apes, and, as I say, other mammals with complex brains and social systems, we have found that after all, there isn’t a sharp line dividing humans from the rest of the animal kingdom. It’s a very wuzzy line. It’s getting wuzzier all the time as we find animals doing things that we, in our arrogance, used to think was just human. The chimps — there’s no time to discuss their fascinating lives — but they have this long childhood, five years of suckling and sleeping with the mother, and then another three, four or five years of emotional dependence on her, even when the next child is born. The importance of learning in that time, when behavior is flexible — and there’s an awful lot to learn in chimpanzee society. The long-term affectionate supportive bonds that develop throughout this long childhood with the mother, with the brothers and sisters, and which can last through a lifetime, which may be up to 60 years. They can actually live longer than 60 in captivity, so we’ve only done 40 years in the wild so far. And we find chimps are capable of true compassion and altruism. We find in their non-verbal communication — this is very rich — they have a lot of sounds, which they use in different circumstances, but they also use touch, posture, gesture, and what do they do? They kiss; they embrace; they hold hands. They pat one another on the back; they swagger; they shake their fist — the kind of things that we do, and they do them in the same kind of context. They have very sophisticated cooperation. Sometimes they hunt — not that often, but when they hunt, they show sophisticated cooperation, and they share the prey. We find that they show emotions, similar to — maybe sometimes the same — as those that we describe in ourselves as happiness, sadness, fear, despair. They know mental as well as physical suffering. And I don’t have time to go into the information that will prove some of these things to you, save to say that there are very bright students, in the best universities, studying emotions in animals, studying personalities in animals. We know that chimpanzees and some other creatures can recognize themselves in mirrors — “self” as opposed to “other.” They have a sense of humor, and these are the kind of things which traditionally have been thought of as human prerogatives. But this teaches us a new respect — and it’s a new respect not only for the chimpanzees, I suggest, but some of the other amazing animals with whom we share this planet. Once we’re prepared to admit that after all, we’re not the only beings with personalities, minds and above all feelings, and then we start to think about ways we use and abuse so many other sentient, sapient creatures on this planet, it really gives cause for deep shame, at least for me. So, the sad thing is that these chimpanzees — who’ve perhaps taught us, more than any other creature, a little humility — are in the wild, disappearing very fast. They’re disappearing for the reasons that all of you in this room know only too well. The deforestation, the growth of human populations, needing more land. They’re disappearing because some timber companies go in with clear-cutting. They’re disappearing in the heart of their range in Africa because the big multinational logging companies have come in and made roads — as they want to do in Ecuador and other parts where the forests remain untouched — to take out oil or timber. And this has led in Congo basin, and other parts of the world, to what is known as the bush-meat trade. This means that although for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years, people have lived in those forests, or whatever habitat it is, in harmony with their world, just killing the animals they need for themselves and their families — now, suddenly, because of the roads, the hunters can go in from the towns. They shoot everything, every single thing that moves that’s bigger than a small rat; they sun-dry it or smoke it. And now they’ve got transport; they take it on the logging trucks or the mining trucks into the towns where they sell it. And people will pay more for bush-meat, as it’s called, than for domestic meat — it’s culturally preferred. And it’s not sustainable, and the huge logging camps in the forest are now demanding meat, so the Pygmy hunters in the Congo basin who’ve lived there with their wonderful way of living for so many hundreds of years are now corrupted. They’re given weapons; they shoot for the logging camps; they get money. Their culture is being destroyed, along with the animals upon whom they depend. So, when the logging camp moves, there’s nothing left. We talked already about the loss of human cultural diversity, and I’ve seen it happening with my own eyes. And the grim picture in Africa — I love Africa, and what do we see in Africa? We see deforestation; we see the desert spreading; we see massive hunger; we see disease and we see population growth in areas where there are more people living on a certain piece of land than the land can possibly support, and they’re too poor to buy food from elsewhere. Were the people that we heard about yesterday, on the Easter Island, who cut down their last tree — were they stupid? Didn’t they know what was happening? Of course, but if you’ve seen the crippling poverty in some of these parts of the world it isn’t a question of “Let’s leave the tree for tomorrow.” “How am I going to feed my family today? Maybe I can get just a few dollars from this last tree which will keep us going a little bit longer, and then we’ll pray that something will happen to save us from the inevitable end.” So, this is a pretty grim picture. The one thing we have, which makes us so different from chimpanzees or other living creatures, is this sophisticated spoken language — a language with which we can tell children about things that aren’t here. We can talk about the distant past, plan for the distant future, discuss ideas with each other, so that the ideas can grow from the accumulated wisdom of a group. We can do it by talking to each other; we can do it through video; we can do it through the written word. And we are abusing this great power we have to be wise stewards, and we’re destroying the world. In the developed world, in a way, it’s worse, because we have so much access to knowledge of the stupidity of what we’re doing. Do you know, we’re bringing little babies into a world where, in many places, the water is poisoning them? And the air is harming them, and the food that’s grown from the contaminated land is poisoning them. And that’s not just in the far-away developing world; that’s everywhere. Do you know we all have about 50 chemicals in our bodies we didn’t have about 50 years ago? And so many of these diseases, like asthma and certain kinds of cancers, are on the increase around places where our filthy toxic waste is dumped. We’re harming ourselves around the world, as well as harming the animals, as well as harming nature herself — Mother Nature, that brought us into being; Mother Nature, where I believe we need to spend time, where there’s trees and flowers and birds for our good psychological development. And yet, there are hundreds and hundreds of children in the developed world who never see nature, because they’re growing up in concrete and all they know is virtual reality, with no opportunity to go and lie in the sun, or in the forest, with the dappled sun-specks coming down from the canopy above. As I was traveling around the world, you know, I had to leave the forest — that’s where I love to be. I had to leave these fascinating chimpanzees for my students and field staff to continue studying because, finding they dwindled from about two million 100 years ago to about 150,000 now, I knew I had to leave the forest to do what I could to raise awareness around the world. And the more I talked about the chimpanzees’ plight, the more I realized the fact that everything’s interconnected, and the problems of the developing world so often stem from the greed of the developed world, and everything was joining together, and making — not sense, hope lies in sense, you said — it’s making a nonsense. How can we do it? Somebody said that yesterday. And as I was traveling around, I kept meeting young people who’d lost hope. They were feeling despair, they were feeling, “Well, it doesn’t matter what we do; eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die. Everything is hopeless — we’re always being told so by the media.” And then I met some who were angry, and anger that can turn to violence, and we’re all familiar with that. And I have three little grandchildren, and when some of these students would say to me at high school or university, they’d say, “We’re angry,” or “We’re filled with despair, because we feel you’ve compromised our future, and there’s nothing we can do about it.” And I looked in the eyes of my little grandchildren, and think how much we’ve harmed this planet since I was their age. I feel this deep shame, and that’s why in 1991 in Tanzania, I started a program that’s called Roots and Shoots. There’s little brochures all around outside, and if any of you have anything to do with children and care about their future, I beg that you pick up that brochure. And Roots and Shoots is a program for hope. Roots make a firm foundation. Shoots seem tiny, but to reach the sun they can break through brick walls. See the brick walls as all the problems that we’ve inflicted on this planet. Then, you see, it is a message of hope. Hundreds and thousands of young people around the world can break through, and can make this a better world. And the most important message of Roots and Shoots is that every single individual makes a difference. Every individual has a role to play. Every one of us impacts the world around us everyday, and you scientists know that you can’t actually — even if you stay in bed all day, you’re breathing oxygen and giving out CO2, and probably going to the loo, and things like that — you’re making a difference in the world. So, the Roots and Shoots program involves youth in three kinds of projects. And these are projects to make the world around them a better place. One project to show care and concern for your own human community. One for animals, including domestic animals — and I have to say, I learned everything I know about animal behavior even before I got to Gombe and the chimps from my dog, Rusty, who was my childhood companion. And the third kind of project: something for the local environment. So what the kids do depends first of all, how old are they — and we go now from pre-school right through university. It’s going to depend whether they’re inner-city or rural. It’s going to depend if they’re wealthy or impoverished. It’s going to depend which part, say, of America they’re in. We’re in every state now, and the problems in Florida are different from the problems in New York. It’s going to depend on which country they’re in — and we’re already in 60-plus countries, with about 5,000 active groups — and there are groups all over the place that I keep hearing about that I’ve never even heard of, because the kids are taking the program and spreading it themselves. Why? Because they’re buying into it, and they’re the ones who get to decide what they’re going to do. It isn’t something that their parents tell them, or their teachers tell them. That’s effective, but if they decide themselves, “We want to clean this river and put the fish back that used to be there. We want to clear away the toxic soil from this area and have an organic garden. We want to go and spend time with the old people and hear their stories and record their oral histories. We want to go and work in a dog shelter. We want to learn about animals. We want … ” You know, it goes on and on, and this is very hopeful for me. As I travel around the world 300 days a year, everywhere there’s a group of Roots and Shoots of different ages. Everywhere there are children with shining eyes saying, “Look at the difference we’ve made.” And now comes the technology into it, because with this new way of communicating electronically these kids can communicate with each other around the world. And if anyone is interested to help us, we’ve got so many ideas but we need help — we need help to create the right kind of system that will help these young people to communicate their excitement. But also — and this is so important — to communicate their despair, to say, “We’ve tried this and it doesn’t work, and what shall we do?” And then, lo and behold, there’s another group answering these kids who may be in America, or maybe this is a group in Israel, saying, “Yeah, you did it a little bit wrong. This is how you should do it.” The philosophy is very simple. We do not believe in violence. No violence, no bombs, no guns. That’s not the way to solve problems. Violence leads to violence, at least in my view. So how do we solve? The tools for solving the problems are knowledge and understanding. Know the facts, but see how they fit in the big picture. Hard work and persistence –don’t give up — and love and compassion leading to respect for all life. How many more minutes? Two, one? Chris Anderson: One — one to two. Jane Goodall: Two, two, I’m going to take two. (Laughter) Are you going to come and drag me off? (Laughter) Anyway — so basically, Roots and Shoots is beginning to change young people’s lives. It’s what I’m devoting most of my energy to. And I believe that a group like this can have a very major impact, not just because you can share technology with us, but because so many of you have children. And if you take this program out, and give it to your children, they have such a good opportunity to go out and do good, because they’ve got parents like you. And it’s been so clear how much you all care about trying to make this world a better place. It’s very encouraging. But the kids do ask me — and this won’t take more than two minutes, I promise — the kids say, “Dr. Jane, do you really have hope for the future? You travel, you see all these horrible things happening.” Firstly, the human brain — I don’t need to say anything about that. Now that we know what the problems are around the world, human brains like yours are rising to solve those problems. And we’ve talked a lot about that. Secondly, the resilience of nature. We can destroy a river, and we can bring it back to life. We can see a whole area desolated, and it can be brought back to bloom again, with time or a little help. And thirdly, the last speaker talked about — or the speaker before last, talked about the indomitable human spirit. We are surrounded by the most amazing people who do things that seem to be absolutely impossible. Nelson Mandela — I take a little piece of limestone from Robben Island Prison, where he labored for 27 years, and came out with so little bitterness, he could lead his people from the horror of apartheid without a bloodbath. Even after the 11th of September — and I was in New York and I felt the fear — nevertheless, there was so much human courage, so much love and so much compassion. And then as I went around the country after that and felt the fear — the fear that was leading to people feeling they couldn’t worry about the environment any more, in case they seemed not to be patriotic — and I was trying to encourage them, somebody came up with a little quotation from Mahatma Gandhi, “If you look back through human history, you see that every evil regime has been overcome by good.” And just after that a woman brought me this little bell, and I want to end on this note. She said, “If you’re talking about hope and peace, ring this. This bell is made from metal from a defused landmine, from the killing fields of Pol Pot — one of the most evil regimes in human history — where people are now beginning to put their lives back together after the regime has crumbled. So, yes, there is hope, and where is the hope? Is it out there with the politicians? It’s in our hands. It’s in your hands and my hands and those of our children. It’s really up to us. We’re the ones who can make a difference. If we lead lives where we consciously leave the lightest possible ecological footprints, if we buy the things that are ethical for us to buy and don’t buy the things that are not, we can change the world overnight. Thank you.
