Bee Bot App – iPad Coding and Computing Apps reviewed + Giveaway!

This video will be part of my new series and
playlist on Educational Apps for Android and iOS devices. First up; iOS with the Educational
App called Bee-Bot. Welcome to another ‘Flipped Classroom Tutorial’. In this tutorial I’m going to show you one
of my favourite apps to teach programming to very young children.
A lot of us already know about Bee-Bots. Bee-Bots are programmable floor robots, you can use
these in class. Now there is also an App. This App is free of charge and let’s go ahead
and open it. As you can see: Bee-Bot App. When you first open the App, you can see that
it’s a very colourful and attractive layout. The children will simply click or tap on ‘Play’. Now I’m going to go to the settings and ‘Reset
all the scores’ This is great for when you have different
groups all starting from Level 1. Now let’s go ahead and ‘Play’. We will start with the first level. And you can see that there are stars as rewards;
one star if we can reach the flower, two stars if you make it and it takes you a very long
time or three stars if you do it within the time limit. Let’s go ahead and Start. And similar to the
‘real’ Bee-Bot we have to program using Forward Backwards Turn Left Turn Right And then Go We do have to remind the children to always
Clear the statements by clicking on the X button. Because it doesn’t just ‘Go’ left but Turn
left 90 Degrees. Let’s do ‘One step forward, Go’ This brings us to the Score board. Let’s say FL as in Flipped Classroom. Let’s go to the next level. Level two! These levels continue to get harder and harder,
so the children here, now need to think about how many step forward they will have to ‘code’
or ‘program’. In this case we will have move forward -one
– two – three steps. One Two Three step forward and then we press ‘Go’. Now I’m going to show you an example of Level
ten. So let’s go ahead and go to level ten. As
you can see here the children will have to ‘Debug’ their code. If they are not ready
to program this in one go. they will have to make mistakes and ‘Debug those Mistakes’. So I’m going to navigate to the flower, by
first making a right turn, and as soon as I Press ‘Go’. My Bee-Bot turns, the Bee-Bot
does remember all instructions, it creates an ‘Algorithm’ with different instructions. But it remembers that ‘turn right statement’,
so if I now add a ‘forward’ statement, which is what I want to do, but I forget to ‘Clear’
You will see it Again turns and moves forward. It has NOT forgotten the previous statements.
This is the reason I say ‘Always remember to Clear previous code’. Now I have to Turn left, Move forward. Before adding my next couple of statements
I’m going to clear the code. Left Turn Forward, forward, forward Right Turn Forward, forward, forward Left Turn Forward, forward Left Forward Right Forward, forward Right Forward Now a lot of children Will get to this after
having played with this app for some time. As you can see It follows all the steps exactly as I have
put them in. So, to summarize. A really good and brilliant app to teach children
at a very young age about algorithms and how different instructions follow each other Top
to Bottom. There is also a little added feature which
is the ‘Farm’ So let’s go ahead and open the farm. These are little Bonus levels, let’s open
the second sheep level, I have to push these sheep, herd them, into their pen. Let’s keep going… That’s one! And as you can see the app if very intuitive. The children will love these bonus levels.
In the Top right corner you see a little timer and this timer decides how many stars you
get awarded. Here you have a short explanation on how this
game was created. If you want more information about actual Bee-Bots you can always vist
www.tts-groups.co.uk You see your How to Play basic Controls and
Below in the description of this video You will also find a GiveAway! I will give away a PDF Full Classroom Guide
on how you can use Physical Bee-Bots as well as this app in class. Basic programming skills for Very young children. Go ahead and Scroll down, and find this Giveaway! If you found this video helpful please leave

I will see you in the next one. Thank you for watching!

iOS 13, iOS 13.2, iOS 13.3 and newer has bugs – How to submit feedback properly so Apple hears you

iOS 13, iOS 13.2, iOS 13.3 and newer has bugs – How to submit feedback properly so Apple hears you

hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech and
Apple actually values your feedback and while some of you may say that’s kind of
funny I think it’s pretty true because of two
different things now if you’ve watched any of my iOS update videos or beta
update videos you’ll know that I’m always telling you to report feedback in
the feedback app but the feedback app is only on beta software so in order to
report feedback on maybe an idea you have for a new feature a problem you’re
having or just something else there’s a couple ways you can do that on a regular
public versions of iOS so I wanted to share with you how you can do that and
Apple usually takes this information and prioritizes it and based on the amount
of feedback they get they’ll work on those problems so let me show you how to
do that so if we go into Safari we’ll go to Safari and you’ll see I’m at a
website that says feedback assistant Apple comm now this is one of two ways
you can do this so let me show you what I mean so here we’re at this feedback
assistant and in this one you’ll actually have to log in with your Apple
ID so if you want to provide feedback this way you can just hit this button
here and it says where would you like to start your feedback and then you can
report for Mac OS TV OS iOS and iPad OS and this is more for beta users but you
can use it then go to iOS and iPad OS we’ll wait for it to load and it says
please provide a description title for your feedback so you want to be very
clear in what the problem is let me turn this down a little bit you want to be
very clear what the problem is so for example maybe you’re having and not an
app reload because that’s not necessarily Apple’s issue but maybe
rotation isn’t working on your phone you need to say something along the lines of
phone rotation not working so it’s very clear then you select the problem area
and down here you’ll see a third-party app accessibility and it’s got
everything categorized so that you can pick exactly what it is
everything from dark mode to you’ll see notifications photos you name it it’s in
here then you can tell them what type of issue you’re having you want to explain
it in detail what’s going on and then you can actually attach a file as well
and that could be a video that could be anything else so if you
hit the little button you’ll see you can browse your photo library take a video a
screen capture and show them exactly what’s going on and then you can submit
your feedback and once you do you’ll just have a list so if I go back here
you’ll see you’ll have your list and this is just a beta software
announcement but you’ll have a list here and it will give you more detailed
information sometimes they’ll actually respond and ask for more information so
that’s one way you can report feedback but there’s another type of feedback as
well so if we go to another tab and of course I’ll link these in the
description this one is apple.com slash feedback and if you go to apple.com
slash feedback you can select iphone or whatever your reporting feedback on so
if i zoom in here it’s going to ask for some information your name your email
address your subject and then this is where it’s a little bit different your
feedback type so feedback type could be a feature request a bug report
performance software hardware compatibility or other so a feature
request could be one that I hear all the time is why is the phone dialer when it
rings taking up my whole screen or things like that so many people want to
see that changed I would highly recommend that you just go here and tell
Apple hey I want this feature and then also you can do bug reports so maybe you
don’t want to go into that other app or login you can do this here so both of
these ways are really great simple ways to provide feedback directly back to
Apple and then they can use that feedback to improve their software
despite what many people think there are a lot of people saying there’s a lot of
issues but if you don’t report it through this feedback app or through
those websites Apple has no way of knowing that because they don’t have the
millions of people using their software if their own campus for example so if
your beta testing software that’s the point provide feedback and how it’s
going for you and then if you’re on a public version that’s the only way we
can submit that feedback so I’m actually logged in in a different version of this
feedback app where I submit some issues and I like to submit as many as I can
but I can’t submit as many as you possibly could so I would highly
recommend you go there submit your feedback and hope
we get some of those features and changes that a lot of people want I
think the number one thing that’s requested though is when a phone call
comes in it takes up the whole screen I see that probably at least a few times a
week from many of you either commenting or emailing me directly I see that a lot
so hopefully Apple listens to those requests in that will get them to fix
these issues that I talk about in the videos regularly so make sure you do
that and hopefully this helps if you have any other questions or comments
though let me know in the comments below of course I’ll link this wallpaper in
the description as I always do if you haven’t subscribed already though please
subscribe and hit that notification bell if you’d like to see more of these
videos as soon as they’re released if you enjoyed the video and you’d like to
see more like this please give it a like and I’ll link some playlists as well as
always thanks for watching this is Aaron I’ll see you next time

iOS 13.2 has Multitasking and RAM management issues

iOS 13.2 has Multitasking and RAM management issues

hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech and
it seems as though iOS 13 and its subsequent updates have had some sort of
issue with multitasking or RAM management depending on what you want to
call it whatever you want to call it I’m referring to the reloading of apps over
and over and over so for example maybe you open music you’re using music for a
while listening to it in the background then maybe you go into the home app then
you go out then you go into say applications and then go back out and
then maybe weather and then maybe you go into for example YouTube and it reloads
over and over and over and I’ve seen this problem more with say Google apps
for example and originally I thought maybe it was just the app developers
that need to update their applications but as I see this more and more and more
online I’m starting to think that it’s specific to iOS now iOS does not have
the really the need for a ton of ram normally such as Android phones for
example so the iPhone 11 pro max or this iPad pro 12 point 9 from 2018 for
example has 4 gigabytes of RAM and with that 4 gigabytes of RAM you can actually
edit 4 streams of 4k videos so the RAM does not seem to be an issue when you’re
doing incredibly heavy tasks but for some reason Apple is very aggressive at
closing the applications in the background when you’re not using them
and then they have to refresh or reload now normally this wouldn’t be too much
of an issue on an iPhone but it is very annoying when you go into say a website
and it reloads when you just go back into Safari and then an iPhone it’s not
as much of an issue as it might be on an iPad for example because on an iPad
chances are you’re trying to get work done if you’re trying to multitask now
not everybody uses an iPad for work but maybe you’re multitasking and you’ve got
the app store open and then maybe you want note and so you’ve got a note
side-by-side with a webpage and maybe you’re switching tabs on that webpage
and now it just reloaded my webpage that web page should stay in RAM or stay in
memory without having to reload especially when I’m working because when
I’m working maybe I have my place saved maybe I’m in a specific article down
here an old update here but maybe I’m in an
article and I’m looking for some specific text or maybe on Apple I’m
researching a new product or something like that and then I want to talk about
it and type around about whatever that is when I have this application reload
it becomes incredibly annoying especially when you’re trying to work so
it could be pages or keynote or it could be maybe you’re just on Amazon and
watching a YouTube video and things are reloading
so you’ll see YouTube just reloaded it was open in the background before so now
it’s reloading and I have to wait for it to go back in now when you play a video
in youtube it’s not necessarily a bad thing because maybe I’m playing a video
from any one of these people it will actually resume where you were left off
normally but if if you have to reload it over and over it just becomes a nuisance
and something that is really a big pain and like I said I thought it was
developers just not catching up or not updating their apps but it seems as
though quite prominent websites such as I more are talking about this and many
of you have asked me to talk about this so I think Apple hopefully will see this
video and understand that this is becoming an issue
hopefully they already know this but maybe you were in an important email and
trying to research something or copy and paste some text and then everything
reloads well that’s just no good and Apple has never had that issue with iOS
but iOS 13 introduced quite a few new features but quite a few more bugs as
well and so I will be doing an update video about iOS 13.2 and what you had to
say about it in a few days here so I did do a YouTube community poll and if you
haven’t voted on that already please go ahead and vote on that and let us know
how that how it’s going for you and what device you’re using and then I’ll take a
look at that information and compile it and see what other issues there were but
most of the time when I’m looking through this I don’t really have an
issue with apps reloading when I’m using my iPhone if they’re native apps such as
the App Store but once in a while I will but it’s mostly things like YouTube or
Google or even my Tesla app here or or anything I’m using it can be incredibly
annoying so maybe I’m trying to run a benchmark this one sort of refreshed but
it’s actually in the right place so it’s strange to see that this is happening
with some things I don’t normally close apps in the back
you’ll see I have quite a few open here and normally if I go back into Twitter
it will reload every time it’s just the problem I see over and over and over so
this is something that I think Apple definitely needs to fix in their
software now if you’re coming from iOS 12 this is something completely new for
us because this wasn’t really much of an issue until 13 world around so hopefully
Apple fixes it I wanted to talk to you about it since many of you are having
this issue and it seems to be very widespread from iMore to MacRumors
forums to many other places reddit threads and things like that this is a
regular known issue so hopefully Apple fixes it soon and I would expect a new
beta probably this if they haven’t come out with one by tomorrow I suppose it
will be in the next week or so now I’m not a programmer but hopefully
Apple can fix this pretty soon and we’ll just have to wait for them to do that
but let me know your thoughts about it in the comments below of course I’ll
link this wallpaper in the description as I always do if you haven’t subscribed
already though please subscribe and if you enjoyed the video please give it a
like as always thanks for watching this is Aaron I’ll see you next time

Windows 10 Bug Bashes

Windows 10 Bug Bashes

>>The Bug Bashes for Windows Insiders are
an essential tool for us to gain feedback from Windows
Insiders that we can use to help shape
the next versions of Windows. To sign up as an Insider, go to insider.windows.com/getting
started. In the rest of this video, you’ll hear from
the Windows Bug bash crew about how to get involved as a Windows Insider and give feedback on Windows
Insider builds.>>We’ve been running Windows Bug Bashes for years internally. When we opened it up
to external users, our Windows Insiders
in particular, we were amazed by
both the quality and the volume of the data
that you were giving us. So, on our side what we do is, as this feedback comes
in every morning, we’re looking at what’s trending, where seeing where
the data’s coming in, and we’re comparing this across all of our different languages, and locales, and
grouping it together. This is really the community
champions doing this work, and they’re creating the bugs that are engineering
teams go fix, and that’s why
Insider feedback is so critical to pulling
the Bug Bash together. So, thank you all for doing that. It’s so important to the quality of Windows and
pulling it all together. The next thing I want
to talk about is, in case you didn’t know, here’s how you can start
actually filing feedback.>>If you encounter
a problem or have a feature idea while
you’re using Windows 10, use our keyboard
shortcut “Windows Key F” to launch feedback hub. Enter a concise title and see if others have already
shared that idea with us. You can vote on their idea, or give us new feedback. If you give us new feedback, please include a screenshot, or recreate the problem
so that our engineers can understand your ideas better.>>Hi, I’m Aman Benes, I’m a program manager in
the Windows and Devices group. One of the things I own is lighting up Quests
and feedback hub, and this includes lighting
up Quests for Bug Bash. Of course I like mission that
you can do on your system, they usually contain
a description, short steps, as well as, followed by a way for
you to provide feedback. This can be contextual feedback, user feedback, or even a survey
at the end of the Quests. Leading up to the Bug Bash, our engineers invest in areas that we want to get
explicit feedback on. Here is a demo of We Will
Find Quests in feedback hub. Let me show you how. So, when you launch
feedback hub on your system, you’ll see a tab on the side
that says “Quests.” Clicking on the
“Quests”, you’ll see the various quests that
are available to you. I can see there’s a description, followed by an action
at the end of the quest for you
to submit feedback. You may be recognized
for participating in the Bug Bash by running the Bug Bash build during
the Bug Bash period, as well as, finishing
at least one quest and giving us
one piece of feedback.>>Hi, I’m Jen, and this guy I’m standing uncomfortably close to, is Jason.>>Hey.>>For anyone who’s been in the Insider program for
maybe the last year, you probably know by now that
you love doing webcasts. One of the main features of every Bug Bash is
that we do a webcast. So, you can meet us, you can see what we’re doing, you can talk with us real time. And Jason and I are
regulars but we do try to invite special guests with each different webcasts. You can get the lay of the land, have the opportunity to ask
them about their features, and just have a lot of fun.>>The Bug Bashes occur from occasion and as
we do the webcast, we post them on Mixer.com. So, our particular address
is Mixer.com/WindowsInsider. Some of you may have tuned in previously when it
was named Beam, but don’t forget that
the name has changed. We’ll announce the dates and times of the webcasts
via the blog post. So, as from that historical
pattern of us doing those, it’ll be easy to find so
that you can tune in. If it’s not convenient
for you, of course, you can check out the video
on demand feeds later on. They’re posted at
the same web address.>>If you have any questions
you want to ask us before or even after the webcast, you can find me on
Twitter and @JenMSFT, and Jason is @NorthFaceHiker.>>The actual main Twitter handle which is @WindowsInsider.>>We’re always available
for any questions, comments, concerns,
feedback. We love you.>>Thank you.>>Thank you.>>Thank you.
