Good day, Eric Bakker again, naturopath, with
another frequently asked question for Candida Crusher. Can a yeast infection turn into a urinary
tract infection if left untreated? Well, yeast infections can predispose you
to many different types of infections. They, in turn, are there because of poor or compromised
immunity and, in turn, can further compromise your lowered immunity and predispose you to
a UTI or urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infections are common for certain
types of people. Elderly women, I find, have more, but many women suffer from recurring
UTIs as well, particularly younger women who often have these. UTIS can come about through
increased sexual activity, but also infrequent emptying or bladder issues. Lowered immunity
or compromised immunity is a key reason why people would have a UTI. So drinking plenty
of water is a clever idea and boosting immunity up. Coming back to that question again, can a
UTI be there because of a yeast infection? It can be because of the predisposing factor,
but yeast infections don’t generally cause UTIs as such, but they can develop out of
yeast infections. So basically the smart thing to do if you
have got a UTI is to improve your immune health and your urinary health and I’ll be covering
more details in further FAQs on UTIs to give you some very good ideas on how you can overcome
a urinary tract infection. These are things that you can get on top of. So I hope that answers your question in a
roundabout way. Thank you.
Have a few bugs in your system? Asana is
just what the engineers ordered. In Asana, teams can easily file and track
bugs so engineers can spend more of their time fixing them and prioritize
them with other work. First, set up a bug tracking project. Click the orange plus button in the top bar and select “Project.” Make it a public project so anyone in
your organization can file a bug. For even faster setup you can also use our bug tracking template. Next set a project owner by clicking the plus button in the top right corner. This person will assign new bugs to get fixed. Use sections or columns to organize the bugs. In this example, we’re using priority sections in a list project. You can track other important information about the bug with
custom fields. Click the project header dropdown, “Manage Custom Fields,” then add a field for priority. You could also create fields for operating system,
prevalence, and more. To report new bugs, you can create a template task for bug reporters to copy. They’ll click the three dots at the top of the template task to copy it. Follow these tips for extra smooth bug
tracking. For thorough bug filing by anyone, create a form with Wufoo. Once submitted, it translates directly into an Asana task with custom fields so
engineers have all the information they need—no back and forth necessary. If a bug is related to other efforts, keep the tasks in multiple projects. That way, work isn’t duplicated and you can see it in different contexts. For simpler bug bashing, connect GitHub and Asana with Unito. Your engineering team can work in GitHub while using Asana to prioritize and see bugs with other work they’re doing. Track and whack bugs with Asana.

Hi there, Erik Bakker back again with Candida
Crusher FAQs. This is FAQ No. 14. Can yeast in the stool cause a vaginal yeast
infection? It can; in fact, women need to be careful
when they wipe that they wipe from front to back. Stool can contain significant amounts
of yeast. And I’ve noticed with stool testing, for example, when stool can be cultured; in
some cases we can find quite a healthy live yeast population in the stool. So stool certainly
can contain live yeast and it’s one key way for women to transfer Candida albicans from
their rectal region to the vaginal region. Bacterial vaginosis is also very commonly
occurred this way through fecal contamination. So to answer that question, yes it can be
transferred. So care needs to be taken with personal hygiene. Thank you.
Urinary tract infections are one very troublesome
complication of an obstructing benign prostatic hyperplasia that can cause patients significant
symptoms. There are two main ways in which BPH cause urinary infections. Firstly, the
obstructing urine may inhibit complete emptying of the bladder such that a post void residual
urine is left within the bladder. This urine can become stagnant and undergo secondary
and bacterial infection leading to urinary tract infection with symptoms of cystitis.
The second mechanism by which benign prostatic hyperplasia can predispose to urinary tract
infections is that to overcome the obstructing prostate, a bladder needs to increase its
pressure: the force with which it exerts to pass urine. This increased pressure against
an obstructing prostate can force urine into the prostatic ducts. This urine sitting within
prosthetic ducts can cause a chemical inflammation which again can predispose to bacterial infection
leading to symptoms of a urinary tract infection such as cystitis and indeed prostatitis.
Greetings. Eric Bakker, naturopath from New
Zealand, author of Candida Crusher, formulator of the Canxida range of dietary supplements.
Thanks for checking out my video. A question I get asked from time to time is “Eric, is
apple cider vinegar any good for people with yeast infections?” It is. It is very good.
But listen up; it’s very important for you to get the right kind of apple cider vinegar.
Braggs makes quite a good apple cider vinegar. It’s a raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar.
We have a really nice one here in New Zealand and the brand is called Coral Tree, and it’s
actually made from apples fermented in oak barrels from bio-dynamically grown apples.
Organics are here. Biodynamics are just a little bit higher than organic, so they’re
very, very high quality products when you buy the Demeter certified, which is a funny
little sort of peanut shape character. The Demeter, I think they call it, certification
for biodynamic is an extremely high standard. If you can get a bio-dynamically certified,
beautiful quality apple cider vinegar, which is naturally fermented in a wooden barrel,
you’ve got a really good product. This is a fermented food or otherwise known
as cultured. These foods like the cider vinegar are okay for a Candida yeast infection internally
and externally. Keep away from commercialized, mass produced apple cider vinegars in supermarkets
in plastic bottles. They’re junk. Just keep away from that sort of crap. It’s the same
with olives and pickles and crap like that from supermarkets that’s been commercially
fermented in lye or just in cheap sort of waters with chemicals added. I hate olives
like that. I prefer to buy olives from those big buckets at the Greek or Italian shops
“the way that mama used to make it” a long time ago. When you’re looking at foods that
have been preserved according to techniques that have been going on for hundreds and hundreds
of years, you’re usually getting a better quality product than something that comes
from a factory using a lot of white sugar, which is usually a junk product.
Vinegar has had a bad rap for a long time with Candida, but a good quality fermented
apple cider vinegar, there’s nothing wrong with it at all. It’s great to use as a vaginal
douche. Guys can use it for a jock itch rinse. You can soak your feet in apple cider vinegar.
You can wash different parts of your body if you’ve got fungal infections. You can use
it on psoriasis. You can use it on your scalp, flaky scalp, dandruff. You can soak your toenails
in straight apple cider vinegar. So there are many applications.
It’s also really good for your stomach. It can create some burning sensations if you
take it too strong, so you might need to dilute it down. I’ve also had a patient a while ago
with a very itchy rectal area, he got incredible relief by using enemas with cider vinegar
and water. He said the itch went away within a week. It disappeared. So for itching hemorrhoids
it can be used. It can be used for many different applications.
Yes, apple cider vinegar is good to take internally also. Small amounts. You might want to put
one or two teaspoons of a good quality, organically fermented and made apple cider vinegar in
a glass of water. You can have small sips of that with certain types of foods like high
protein to help you digest protein better. Don’t be afraid of having a good quality apple
cider vinegar like Braggs regularly if you’ve got Candida. Don’t go too crazy on the dose
to start with. Go very slow and see how you go.
I hope that answers your questions. Thanks for the question.
So, endocarditis is an infection of heart
valves. It’s commonly associated with injection drug use and it can be a
catastrophic complication where people have very high mortality and often can
develop heart failure or stroke. So the main thing we wanted to know is what
factors were associated with survival because the mortality can be very high.
And what we found was that being referred to an addiction specialist
dramatically improved mortality and also it has been controversial in the past
whether surgery would help or not. What we found that surgery was also strongly
associated with a reduced death rate. My role has been sort of as a addiction
specialist and palliative care physician – kind of a bit of a combined role. One of
the main reasons people leave hospital especially very shortly after they’re
admitted is because they’re in withdrawal. So when I see a patient, one
of the first things I try to do is about the relationship and rapport and to
prevent them from going into withdrawal. I think that we have made a really good
case of first what we might think might work to provide better care for some of
these individuals, and then to ask better questions about what can we do
differently with their care and what other things can we can we look into to
see if we can find more differences or more meaningful information to support
what we do and how we practice.

[Atmospheric Background Music Starts] From kissing bugs to bullet ants, we countdown
the 10 deadliest insects in the world. #10 Bullet Ants – Found in the rain forests
of Nicaragua, the bullet ant’s sting has been named the world’s most painful. The
sting is so painful, that it’s part of an initiation rite to become a warrior for a
tribe in Brazil. The ants are woven into a glove, which is then placed over the hand
for 10 minutes. The venom is strong enough to temporarily paralyze the arm, and the participant
may shake for days after the ritual is over. Although the bullet ants sting is unlikely
to kill you, it’s something you want to completely stay away from. #9 Deer Ticks – Commonly found in wooded areas
across the US and Canada, deer ticks infect hundreds of people with Lyme disease every
year. Ticks can attach themselves to any part of the human body, and if not removed quickly
the Lyme disease bacterium can be transmitted. Lyme disease symptoms include such as fever,
headache and feeling tired. Few victims actually die from Lyme disease, but suffering from
the disease can go on for years. #8 Asian Hornet – With a wingspan of almost
3 inches this massive hornet is recently responsible for 6 deaths in France. Experts are also concerned
that millions of these wasps could be heading for Britain. The sting can cause a severe
allergic reaction in some people, and as well carries an enzyme that can dissolve human
tissue. The wasp also poses a threat to honeybees, and is capable of destroying 30,000 bees in
just a couple of hours. #7 Fire Ants – Introduced into the US in the
1930’s, these ants are most powerful in large numbers. With colonies containing hundreds
of thousands, fire ants can easily take down insects, and small animals with the ability
the sting in unison. An invasive species, it’s estimated that they cause 750 million
dollars in damage annually, as well as killing several people a year. #6 Kissing Bugs – There are several different
species of kissing bugs across the globe, and
not only can they cause you to have an allergic reaction, they can also spread chagas disease.
Chagas disease is a parasitic disease, and as it progresses it can cause serious symptoms,
such as heart disease and malformation of the intestines. As well, if the disease is
left untreated it can also be fatal. #5 Driver Ants – Fire ants are a real problem
in the US, but at least you don’t have to worry about driver ants. Found primarily in
central and east Africa these little guys not only sting, but also bite with their powerful
jaws. Driver ants are carnivores, and when on the move in search for food can march in
massive columns containing up to 50 million. Although it may not be very common, driver
ants have been known to kill large animals and even humans. #4 Wasps – With over 30,000 species, wasps
are found in almost every country around the world. If threatened the wasp will emit a
pheromone that will send nearby colony members into a stinging frenzy. Only female wasps
have stingers, and unlike bees they can sting multiple times. Recently the mayor of a town
in Quebec Canada died from a wasp sting, and hundreds of others suffer the same fate every
year. #3 Tse Tse Fly – This blood sucking insect
is responsible for the transmission of a disease called sleeping sickness. Inhabiting mid-continental
Africa they feed on the blood of animals, and humans which spreads the disease. Sleeping
sickness causes fever, head aches and trouble sleeping. It’s estimated that up to 10,000
people die from the disease every year. #2 Bees – Due to the introduction of Africanized
honey bees, there’s been a dramatic increase in deaths from bees in the last 15 years.
Normal bees sting once and die, and although people can die from anaphylactic shock, it’s
uncommon. However, Africanized Bees swarm victims with large numbers, and are responsible
for hundreds of deaths every year. #1 Mosquitoes – At the top of our list, we
have mosquitoes. Generally just a nuisance to campers and those trying to enjoy the outdoors,
mosquitoes are responsible for a staggering number of deaths every year. Because they
feed on blood, they can be a carrier for blood borne diseases like malaria. To compare, there
are around 500,000 murders every year around the globe. The mosquito is responsible for
up to 1 million deaths each year, and infecting millions more with diseases like dengue fever,
yellow fever and encephalitis.
